Since we're asking questions about being bad, anyone got tips on getting my headshot % up? I see most good goonman players have at least 50%+, and while I believe I'm a decent player, I only have 20% or so headshot percentage. I feel like my gameplay would drastically change if I could get my headshot/kill % up.

The answer is that they set themselves up so those shots are easy to take, i.e. they're already aiming at the head before it comes into view. The difference between waiting until the enemy places his head in your crosshair and clicking vs. placing your crosshair on his head doesn't look like a drastic change but mentally it's huge. The next time you're goonmannin watch someone who regularly clicks heads like t0tt. He makes it look like he's not trying at all but it's because he's doing all the hard work before the fight even starts.

DM a lot, lower your sensitivity, etc... But really the valve headshot percentage is really misleading and only counts the percentage of your kills that are headshots. A better measurement is the percentage of your hits that are headshots and realistically no one's HSP is actually that high: (really outdated stats) http://goonpug.com/stats/pug/career/?sort=-hsp also: keep your crosshairs at head level at all times

Yeah this is the biggest way more so than just flat out wrist accuracy. Learn the height of the models and where their heads would be as they come around particular corners.

Each trade makes it easier to crack a site. Obviously this is a simplicity that ignores rotates and other metagame stuff.

I've had people miscall A apartments as B, and the reverse. I've never heard anyone miscall palace as apartments. Myself, I've definitely missed a call because there was a push both mid and palace and I heard the following: <gunshot>midmid2mid1connector2a<gunshot>apps!<gunshot> It's not something that happens often, but there can be a real advantage to using an unambiguous single word over two. If a gun goes off while you're saying A or B and they only hear the aps part, they're going to think B. Maybe they're distracted and only catch the end of it. A sounds very similar to A, so when you call A aps it may sounds like aps. Most people default to aps being B aps, which would cause confusion.

Then you can use virtualdub to render all the .tga files and the wav into an avi. Fraps is definitely the easiest way to do it, but I tried the tga method for my last ace video and it was ok.

You should be aware of who is playing where on your team (this goes along with not switching spots). If an A player says "steps apartments" it should be pretty obvious which apartments they are taking about. This is harder in mm when you might not know people's voices I guess, but in goonmans this isn't an issue.

That said, in every goonman I've played in on mirage the upper portion of the B site is almost always called "B apps" by whoever is playing there. I think the only goon I've played with who explicitly called it "Halls" is Face.

When hearing a call there are a few things to take in to considerations. Who made the call, how quickly they made it, how accurate the call was (where and how many(has bomb been spotted)) and who (the player) was spotted if possible. I'm sure I'm missing a few things there but, all of those answers add up to how your teammates should react. Lets all be honest here I think we would all be happy with people just using their mics or having one.

At least they fixed that bug on favela where you could stand on the garbage bags in T spawn and crash the server because whoever made the map made every single piece of trash inside the garbage bag an individual prop or something.

Does anybody know how to get to the roofs on Favela? Pengy, Daeno, and a couple other guys were in an MM with me on CT side. Near the end of the match the T's just start appearing from the goddamn rooftops and shooting us. I'm suspecting that the dumpster in the small alley near T spawn is how they get there, but I have not been able to find any spots that are boost-able to yet.
