Or watch the parts where he is autosniping through boxes by B doors / CT spawn. Alternatively watch the part where he walks through smoke into B from tunnels scoped in aiming at my friend at car, lines up a shot, shoots (all while in smoke), but hits the wall in front of him (that he can't see because, again, he is still in the smoke and his hack just shows the person). It's possible he toggled aim on for a few seconds, realized how obvious it was, and turned it off. You just don't get those kinds of noscopes. Even if you're the kind of weirdo who plays with a little dot on their monitor.

Something about the new scope and glowy dot sight make me want to spray more when scoped in with it. And that's not good. I never had this problem with the old AUG/Sig scope. I think having the actual gun sight on my screen tricks my brain into trusting the sight as accurate and thinking the recoil is way low, because, come on, it's a scope, I can see where the gun is pointed, clearly the recoil wasn't very strong, I'm still aiming right at him with my scope sights. Whereas with the older zoom style, there were no gunsights on the screen, just the regular classic CS crosshairs, which I have years of experience not trusting. I find the new scope makes me less prone to spray just because there is much more of a visual difference between scoped/unscoped. I never really used the scope rifles before because I would find myself at times almost not even realizing I was still scoped in.

Theresa Frontpage posted:I would think hacking happens almost exclusively in lower rank/unranked games. Who would want to put an account with a high rank at risk of getting VACbanned by blatantly hacking? People buy throw-away accounts to hack on. That is why they almost always have just CS or the CS pack, along with some free games. (or a private profile) Also, there are paid hacks that are undetectable by VAC, so those guys are only worried about overwatch. Overwatch doesn't VAC ban you. Furthermore, hackers are blowing through accounts left and right. You'll see they only have a few hours on their account. So, it does take playing a bunch of games to get to high ranks. Also, they won't just rocket up the ranks immediately if they only toggle when they get scared / upset. And I would assume that it isn't as much fun for them to hack against newbies, you'd want to do it to tryhards.

Alright I'm going to watch this again and timestamp every time my brain screams: no! wrong!! 0:04 : You run through the smoke without knowing where you're going to be or what you're going to do at the other end. You should have been using your radar or sound to follow your teammate and be ready to squeeze off some rounds should there have been an enemy at the other end. 0:17 : You're in the most exposed spot in the entire bomb site. You should be watching any blind spots not covered by your teammates while heading to somewhere more safe. In this case with a teammate lower and another upper, heading down CT ramp would probably have been your best bet. 0:20 : You look at your teammate to see what he's doing instead of using your radar. It takes you a full couple of seconds to sweep to him and back to the enemy. If someone had a bead on you you'd be dead. A big element in this game is trusting that your teammates are doing what they should be. 0:25 - 0:30 : I now have a video to show people how exactly you DON'T stutter step. You pull the trigger whenever you begin to move, rather than right as you stop. Try working on this on a local server with showimpacts turned on. 0:31 : He can barely see you. Crouch. Or stop moving so predictably. Honestly at this point I had no idea how you were still alive and I saw where this video was going. 0:37 : You have almost no health, the enemy knows where you are, and you're peaking. You DO know that there's only one enemy in site, with another lurking somewhere (behind you at upper is a really safe bet). Wait for the defuse while watching your back. 0:41 : I'm not sure how you didn't die here but you gave up a very safe position for... I dunno what. 0:50 : At this point it doesn't matter because the bomb *will* go off but peaking in a 1v1 when you know where the enemy is is one of the biggest no-nos. 0:53 : Everyone is crying from laughing because they just witnessed the most moment ever. Just goes to show that sometimes you just roll trip-6s. Simply put: You got super lucky and happened to be in just the right place at the right time despite everything you did was technically 'wrong' and won the round. This is what makes CS a great game.

Apparently it is a thing going down, and it can be aimed at specific players? but how are you getting that done to individual players during matchmaking?

I upgraded from a 10 dollar wireless mouse to a Deathadder. My oh my. What a difference. I've been researching what works best as far as DPI settings go, and of course, the internet suggests to use a DPI/sens setting that feels "right." However, I don't really know what to compare this to. Right now, it already feels loads better. What are some suggestions or settings that you guys use?

The new sticker tech looked pretty neat, so I figured I'd poke around in it and see what kind of things could be made with it. Someone was bound to make something like this, so I figured I may as well be the one to do it. Behold, the gaudiest sticker collection imaginable (as seen at a kiosk in a mall near you): If you have recently failed an eye exam, are partially blind, or just have poor taste, and you actually want one of these things, you can vote for them here: Bling Collection

I hope this doesn't open some can of worms but isn't it usually better to set your DPI to a high value and reduce in game sensitivity to compensate? I don't really know what magic happens behind the scenes but it is my understanding that this will lead to smoother and more precise mouse control. Might be a minor difference either way.

emanresu tnuocca posted:I hope this doesn't open some can of worms but isn't it usually better to set your DPI to a high value and reduce in game sensitivity to compensate? Consensus seems to be that most mice have a "native" dpi, and going higher than that is just digitally scaling up the image the optical sensor receives, which introduces noise. Probably all at levels too small to make a difference but the point is higher isn't always "better". Also, CSGOStash.com is awesome, good work. If you're open to feature requests, I'd be interested in a "Current Market Price" for each quality (and stattrak/no stattrak) on each skin. And each price could link you to the market page for that specific quality. NickPancakes fucked around with this message at 21:14 on Feb 25, 2014 |

Not to mention the bomb was already planted so he didn't have much time to waste. This could have been a 3v1 that would have been easily won. TKing him and having him watch a round would have been more beneficial than me explaining counter strike mechanics in the 15 second freezetime. Edit: Also, I mentioned this in game to someone last night; I don't hate anyone if I yell at you it's just how I learned how to play CS (by getting yelled at). It's just very difficult to explain everything that should have been done when there is only 1:45 in a round and you've got to think about the current round as opposed to dwelling on the previous one.
