Ten games published by Automata, on one cassette

So you think you're playing a nice interactive drama? Playing a video game that resembles a movie in its cinematic presentation? Are you having fun in this first 20 or so minutes? Do you have any fear that it'll stay on-rails the entire time and be a concise experience worthy of prestigious recognition and awards? A genre-buster of its own kind with a cohesive narrative?

Well you can ditch that fear right now because

David Cage games are somehow more consistently sexist than the rest of video games (Japanese or otherwise) put together.

The ending of Seacats isn't exactly fantastic though. ...Then again I imagine it will burn considerably less to just play it as a chunk as opposed to waiting for years and getting that.

There's one thing on earth that looks worse: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93962591&searchtext=higurashi (the creator's previous game)

For those two games, the author did all the sprite work, I think. They've sold well enough that I think his company now has an actual artist on staff, and their most recent work looks acceptable enough.

It's actually a pretty decent horror story and there's a patch to add the improved art from the PS2 version of the game.

It must be a testament to the quality of all these visual novels that people find them entertaining despite the worst art in the world/the grossest porn in Japan.

Some of them are worth it, some of them are not, that's just the way it is. In Higurashi's case, if the patch for the improved artwork didn't exist, I probably never would have read it. But it's not like the new art is particularly great either, it just makes the whole thing bearable.

In fairness to Umineko, the music makes up for it, you can just pretend the horrible horrible art isn't there. At that point it's basically just reading a book with soundtrack.

I've changed a lot since I started hanging with Sonic, but I can't depend on him forever. I know I can do this by myself! Okay, Eggman! Bring it on!
The old Umineko art grows on you after a while as well. Some of the faces in that thing are wonderful in some weird way. The Higurashi art is unfortunately awful all around.

The music in both is excellent though, especially Umineko.

Sometimes the storylines in wrestling are pretty much straight out of an anime. I've seen wrestlers die and come back to life a couple matches later before.

Yeah. I remember a match where somebody "broke" Kurt Angle's neck. Later in the show he came back, ripped off his neck brace and won the match. It was hilarious.

Wrestling would be a lot more like Anime if the fights lasted as long as the entire show and then the next show would be filler until the next match wherein Dwyane the Rock Johnson trips backstage and lands face first into a schoolgirls boobs and she then spends 15 minutes hitting him with a paper fan calling him a "pervertidiot" where the audience is meant to laugh.

And everyone laughs and laughs and laughs and laughs because it is so funny.

The heel is a champion but it turns out he's actually a huge coward and doesn't want to give up his belt so he uses illegal moves and brings in outside help to get disqualified and does lots of cowardly acts like hiding himself inside the elimination chamber pods and complaining loudly about getting title matches where the audience is meant to laugh.

And everyone laughs and laughs and laughs and laughs because it is so funny.
