If you kill the person getting mauled by an ant, then they can't get hurt by the ant anymore.

Today I got a sniper weapon called the Monster. Holy poo poo is it aptly named. Does like 500 damage a shot but eats the entire Wing Energy bar. Two-shots everything robotty I've tried it on so far. Upgraded transports, Super Hectors, Shieldbearers, everything. That and an upgraded Rapier is the best. As long as the bees aren't about. Three weapons for Wing Divers would be perfect. Missions have gone loving mental around the 40 mark and it is The Best. That first mission with Earth Eaters was just amazing. Then it got even more so. The bee death sound is really adorable to me for some reason.

I killed a giant Dragon with a Super Soaker full of Acid, who needs a long range weapon? It served well to plow my way through the Giant Insect hordes in next few missions. I have gotten a grenade launcher that fires 20 bouncy grenades at once (shame about that 10 second fuse). I have a Missile Launcher larger than the Ranger, that deals 1,500 Damage with a Lock of 800m (if with a 5 second lockon ) Stage 85, here I come. Let's go, Goliath D1! Fake Edit: ^^^ Yeah, those are pretty fun.

Can you still cancel the followthrough on those by switching weapons after they leave your hand? In EDF2 you can get some pretty silly dps out of them that way.

Everything weapon is serviceable and (mostly) normal, on Normal. But as I near the end, I get a taste of things to come. Also, for anyone who thinks Air Raider vehicles are terrible, just wait until you get higher level versions. They all start terrible, but get awesome in the end game. Except maybe the railgun tanks, they are awesome from start to finish (except one in the middle that fires in burst mode, it isn't very accurate). Gigantes tanks slow and dull? The high end ones are fast enough to drift race. BMX10 Proteus feels weak? The late-game version absolutely wrecks poo poo in Inferno difficulty, and has 160,000 durability.

Been playing couch-coop with a friend and had a glorious EDF moment the other night. I play as an Air Raider and love the hell out of the class. On the Ravager Battleship mission, I brought the Satellite Blaster and started the boss fight with dropping the laser right on the boss' prow. It proceeded to start shaking like a leaf, go spinning into the earth, disappear for a solid 10 seconds, then come falling out of the sky at a 45 degree angle. The rest of the fight proceeded as normal. I love this game.

My first exposure to the series was IA on Steam, not being a 360 owner or a JP import gamer, and after playing a couple missions it feels like I've come home. Considering how much I loved what's considered to be the worst game in the series, I'm really looking forward to digging in to this one.

I wish it had a longer campaign and a few different decisions (like dropping the credits system and getting rid of those loving ticks) but it was my first EDF too, and I still play it occasionally. Worst in the series in a series full of awesome games can still mean you're a really sweet game.

Gigantus tanks always cost the same amount, even when you get a level 80 version of it. So do all the other vehicles of the same line... all Vegaltas cost the same, all Titans cost the same, and so on.

The Monster snipers are focus-lasers like the LAZR guns or the LRSL series. So the ROF is 60/sec. There's an upgraded version too that's ridiculous like 6000/shot or so for 18,000 off a full energy bar.

The worst part about that game is the way the levels are objective based, EDF works so well because levels are usually straightforward and short so you can use the guns that work best for the enemies you are fighting. IA forced you to use all purpose guns on every mission because you have to fight every enemy type for 15-20 minutes at a time. Wasn't there an escort mission in IA?

Someone seriously needs to cheer the scientist guy up a bit. He's so negative. Every new thing the Ravagers come up with it's "oh no, humanity is going to be extinct". I bet that's why the Ravagers are invading, he's such a gloomcloud he's endangering the universe or something. Seriously Doc, just give everybody a Monster and this invasion is finished by tomorrow. Also holy poo poo I love the Monster more and more. It's a little tricky to pull off the shots that don't eat the entire bar, but killing Deroys from far away in two shots is great. Because gently caress Deroys. I liked the mission where they brought the old transports back because I could try the Monster on them too.

Holy loving poo poo. This game Fencer's starter weapons are poo. But I played the first mission on hard and got a 6-tube missile launcher and a mortar. You just start leveling the poo poo out of everything. Building collapse, bug parts fly everywhere, and everything dies. This game is amazing. gently caress reviews. Anyone who says this game sucks hates fun. I also love that the game (at least mine) does not come with an instruction manual, nor a tutorial. After beating the game on normal as Wing Diver, I'm now playing through hard with Fencer. It was said before, but if you've not tried to reflect stuff, you need to. For spiders, ion shield is the only weapon you need, since they have more attack than HP. I finished the spider part of the first underground mission without firing a shot. On the other hand, one ant acid blast knocks off almost all your health if all the drops connect. Ugh.
