I knew the penta was supposed to be good, but I didn't expect it to be completely, shamelessly broken good. It's functional against level ~30 enemies without a single mod, and you will never run out of ammo with it. Using a potato seems like it would just be pointless overkill. There is no way they even tried to balance this thing.

RNG is the worst way possible to distribute parts, especially for defense missions. I hopped on a T3 defense with some guy looking for some part of the Braton Prime, figuring I'd maybe pick up that or a Forma. We left after wave 40, having seen 2 Formas, the wrong Braton Prime part, and a poo poo-ton of Mag Prime BPs. What a mess. On the upside, it got my Embolist from 8 to 19, so that's nice.

We have learned the nature of Project Tethra, Vay Hek is rebuilding the Fomorian Fleet. His aim is nothing less than complete domination of the Origin System. Thousands of these monstrous ships are in production. The Grineer will become unstoppable if they are completed. We must not let this happen. Our goal is to cripple these ships before they can be deployed. To do this we are going to target the Fomorian Power Cores, their most vital component. This will be easier said than done. The cores are heavily guarded and their precise location is a tightly kept secret. First we must find the cores. The Grineer are coordinating construction using a highly sophisticated encrypted communication system. To defeat this encryption, intercept multiple Data Fragments and combine them using the Tethra Cipher Blueprint I have sent you. When you have found a core, I will give you further instructions. The Lotus WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO DO - You will receive a Blueprint from The Lotus for the Tethra Cipher Key. This will be your key to a new tileset, the hidden Grineer Shipyards. In order to craft the Cipher, you will need to collect unique data fragments by playing the Tethra's Doom Interception Mission on Earth. - Once you have the necessary resources, you can craft the Tethra Cipher. Your Blueprint will not be consumed. - Use your Cipher to open the Grineer Shipyards and play the NEW Hijack Game Mode. - In Hijack, you'll need to find a Fomorian Power Core and activate the control panel to release it. - Once released, the core will become unstable and its health will begin to degrade. If the core runs out of health before it reaches its destination, it will rupture and killing everyone in the vicinity. - Standing near the Power Core will move it forward. This will drain your Shield, so use resources wisely. - Any damage it takes during the fighting will only hasten its destruction. WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW - Once you have successfully completed your mission, the Cipher will be consumed. - To re-play the Mission, craft a new Cipher using your Blueprint and the necessary resources. EVENT START/END TIME Tethra's Doom is on now and will end at 12 PM EDT on Wednesday, March 12. SCORING Upon completing each mission, you will be scored as follows: Individual Scoring - The health remaining is your score. Clan Scoring - Clan scores will be determined by the sum of each participant's best score. REWARDS Individual Rewards - Complete mission with between 1 and 249 points and you will receive an Event Badge and a 3-Day Affinity Booster - Complete mission with between 250 and 499 points and you will receive the following four Mods: “Jolt”: (Pistol) 15% Proc chance + 15% Electricity damage “Shell Shock”: (Shotgun) 15% Proc chance + 15% Electricity damage “High Voltage": (Rifle) 15% Proc chance + 15% Electricity damage “Voltaic Strike”: (Melee) 15% Proc chance + 15% Electricity damage - Complete mission with 500 points or more and you will receive the Gorgon Wraith. Clan Rewards - A Gold, Silver and Bronze Clan Statue will be distributed to the top three Clans in each Clan Tier. Defeat Vay Hek's plans and take down Project Tethra! Oh boy! Another mediocre weapon gets a Wraith Variant. If it's similar to the Vipers in improvement it'll be solid, if it's similar to the Strun/Machete in improvement it'll be the new Latron Prime. Either way, I get another uncolorable weapon to equip in pursuit of the longest equipment names. Where's my Wraith Excalibur Prime?

Uggh, I'm still not sure how many fragments you get per run but looks like you should do one run and then head out. Seems minimal of two per run. Need 3 per event mission. 100 Poly bundle per special key... Fffffuck

Innerguard posted:Can you give a breakdown of the actual point acquisition amount/mechanic please? You escort this giant core to the end, if it takes damage you lose health on it. More health it loses the fewer points you get. Not much more to it than that.

Innerguard posted:Can you give a breakdown of the actual point acquisition amount/mechanic please? I think the points is based on the health of the core at the end. Make sure you're underneath the core and have a Volt that can speed it up. Might be good to also have either a Zephyr or Frost for a mobile shield/ice bubble spam respectively.

Haha so the drums in the dojo apparently base their volume off your music volume setting. I had music off in game so OwlSolar was asking me if the drums sounded out of tune and I was sitting there wondering why the drums were silent.

Core health at finish is divided by 10 and that's your score, it starts at 10,000. I can't say I really mind it being so easy, better than grinding for an entire week to just barely squeak past the required numbers.

# ? Mar 6, 2014 05:13 |

The score is the remaining health of the core? Because uhhhhh we just finished with like 8000 remaining health. That can't be right. edit: ^^^ doh, nevermind
