Since Johan is in this thread I'd like to suggest using GUIDs instead of ints for province IDs and maybe just compiling them to an int-indexed table on map load for quick lookups? It would be a lot easier to manipulate the map if provinces were GUIDs! Sorry this is unrelated to EvW.

I think the writing was on the wall for most of us about EvW. Shame it happened, but really, after the catastrophes that have been Paradox's most recent attempts to license their most recent engines (Magna Mundi and now EvW) I can understand why you don't want to do that anymore.

But you can't extrapolate DH's administration-side success to anything; BL-Logic had released Arsenal of Democracy, after all, and when EvW was officially announced a lot of us thought "well BL-Logic have proven themselves capable of actually releasing a game unlike ubik".

This was predictable from the moment it was leaked there was no multiplayer; from there it was just kind of dominoes falling, but at least before it I expected -some- wargame out of it.

Adding new ones would be easier if I could just paste in the hex value instead of typing out three different numbers.
