Honestly just find someone with a decent enough color printer and print/sleeve your own. I have never heard of anyone, player or TO, going around checking cards in any tournament i've been to.

I haven't played in a while, but watching that championship video made me was to return to the game. I'm curious though, any particular reason Assault Missiles never caught on? Seems like the natural answer to TIE swarms.

I just ordered a ton of crap to finish off my collection until W4 hits. With this order I have 2 of every ship except the YT-1300

x2 TIE Bomber (Hopefully good against capitals)
Firespray (makes 2)
x2 Shuttle
x2 HWK
x2 B-Wing
x1 Core (gives me TIE 5&6, X-Wing 3)
x1 A-Wing (gives me 2)

I think it's a problem of point cost and the number of actions it takes to launch them effectively.

Matter of fact, I'm salty now.
I have (premptively) put together a fun 150 point TIE Bomber gimmick list that I feel would be amazing against Capital ships.

quote:

1 • Captain Jonus - TIE Bomber (22)
- Swarm Tactics (2)
- Concussion Missiles (4)
- Concussion Missiles (4)
- Proton Bombs (5)
• Total : 37 •
2 • Scimitar Squadron Pilot - TIE Bomber (16)
- Proton Torpedoes (4)
- Assault Missiles (5)
- Seismic Charges (2)
• Total : 27
3 • Scimitar Squadron Pilot - TIE Bomber (16)
- Proton Torpedoes (4)
- Assault Missiles (5)
- Seismic Charges (2)
• Total : 27
4 • Scimitar Squadron Pilot - TIE Bomber (16)
- Proton Torpedoes (4)
- Assault Missiles (5)
- Seismic Charges (2)
• Total : 27
5 • Scimitar Squadron Pilot - TIE Bomber (16)
- Proton Torpedoes (4)
- Assault Missiles (5)
- Seismic Charges (2)
• Total : 27

Grand total= 145
This is all hypothetical because we don't know the points limit or much else. My idea is that the rear end Missiles will not only damage the Capital but also hit anything stupid enough to be in close range of it. The Proton Torpedoes could be switched for any other 4 point ordnance, or if you had enough cards you could make it 2x Assault Missiles per Scimitar pilot. I'll be interested to know what the Flechette Torpedoes do, but knowing what we know I still think Assault Missiles are the best.

Its mostly because A-wings just aren't very good.

The YT-1300 can take missiles, and Asssault Missiles can be very effective at taking out the very thing YTs stuggle with: swarms.

It can take 1 missile yeah. Not really enough to make a swarm break a sweat though.

I think that the A-wing is alright, but I'm not too sure about the Z-95. I wonder if a TIE Advanced gimmick build with Assault Missiles would work now.

4 Z-95s with assault missiles + Kyle Katarn or Biggs might be a fun gimmick.

The movement dial will make or break the Z-95, if it's fairly mobile it'll work out to be a good choice, but if it's slow as balls then it'll be like shooting fish in a barrel.

Well, they've followed the performance of the ships in the various video games pretty closely so far. If they continue to, the Z-95 should have a similar dial to the X-Wing. Not amazing, but certainly good enough for a cheap support ship.

So there is a big tournament coming up on the 22nd. I think it's the Regional Championship, so I want to pick a list and practice my rear end off. I've narrowed it down to 3 choices but I could use some help deciding. List 1 is obviously a proven winner, but I think that it might be beyond my skill level, much for the same reason I'm not going to try to run a swarm list. List 2 is easy to play, but is weak to swarms, and List 3 is well, also hard to pilot I imagine. I'll be able to get lots of practice in but I need to decide what to run now.

List 1:

2x Dagger Squadron Pilots w/ Advanced Sensors
Biggs Darklighter
Rookie Squadron Pilot

(Variant is 2x Red Squadron Pilots instead of Biggs/Rookie)

List 2:

Hans Solo w/ Chewie, Elusivness, Nien Numb, Falcon,
2x Red Squadron Pilot

List 3:

Bounty Hunter w/ Recon Specialist
Soontir Fel w/ Push the Limit, Stealth Device
Backstabber
Night Beast

I'd definitely say go with List 1 if you're going to get practice in. You really just need to get used to maneuvering Biggs and the B-Wings in tandem, and you've got 3 weeks to do so.

My store has a bunch of TIE Bombers and B-Wings in stock. Obviously the latter have uses, and I'm probably going to pick two up if I'm genuinely returning to the game, but what about the former?

TIE Bombers shine if you expect to face a YT-1300. They overall are a solid ship, and while it is a 'bomber' it has an extremely good movement dial, including a 5 speed K-turn, which is great for bombing/other tactics. The only drawback is that once you've fired off the munitions then it's just a TIE Fighter, so you really need to make sure you have modified dice (so using Jonus or focusing every time). I find taking one is lacklustre, so I usually take two at a minimum. It's my experience however, others may have different opinions.

Take two bombers. Pick either missiles or torps (never run a full load out, way too many points). Make one of them Jonus for the die bonuses. Watch rebels cry when you crack their YT-1300s or cluster missile their aces.

Don't let dogs get any part of fish.
I've been thinking of running bombers lately as the YT is a pretty constant pain in our local metagame. I was looking at:

Soontir Fel (27)
Push the Limit (3)
Stealth Device (3)

Captain Jonus (22)
Homing Missiles (5)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)
Cluster Missiles (4)

Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16)
Cluster Missiles (4)

Total: 100

Is there any benefit to trying to work Colonel Jendon into a bomber list? It seems like good action economy to let your bombers Focus while getting a free target lock.

The Irish can't drink. What you always have to remember with the Irish is they get mean. Virtually every Irish I've known gets mean when he drinks.

I've tried building something like that, but can't get a list I like that includes Jonus at <100 pts.

I've also played against a list with Jendon, and a Scimitar (and some other stuff) and lost badly, so it can be done. Though Rebel Captive on Jendon had something to do with it as well.

Sadly, I don't think there's any precedent for same-pilot-different-ship yet. Closest we've got is having Luke as both an X-Wing pilot and a crew card.

That said, if they slap Tycho on an X-Wing card, I will never run any list ever again that isn't Wedge, Tycho, Hobbie, and Wes. Forever.
