Idiot Abroad is one of the most entertaining programs I've seen in a long time, but like a lot of shows it really hits its stride midway through the first season.

Yeah, the first season of Idiot Abroad really didn't do it for me, but I loved the second and third. It's less just make him miserable and more make him do awesome poo poo and be miserable during it.

Reviewing the movies people haven't seen in a paragraph is a good idea, but spoiling the entire plot and ending of them in your review is pretty lame. There's honestly no reason for me to watch either one of these movies now.

I watched one episode of Idiot Abroad when it first aired and something about it rubbed me the wrong way. Maybe I'll look up a later episode and give it a second try.

Trip report: Netflix on the Nintendo 3DS Film: Event Horizon Pros: Movie was just as awesome as I remembered it. Audio quality was fantastic once I put headphones on. Without an audio solution besides the tinny built-in speakers, it's . Not horrible, just not great. Even at max brightness and with heavy use of the 3DS's wireless capability, battery life was not an issue. I started with full bars, and at the end of the 1:35:00 film, it still read "full." Picture quality wasn't bad considering the tiny screen. Aspect ratio was correct and even smaller details were sharp-ish. I want to make special note of the subtitles, because they were (at least for this film) fantastic and definitely tailored for the 3DS's display. Crisp, clean, and perfectly readable without detracting from the film. Cons: Netflix takes quite a while to load, and it seems like the initial handshaking between the 3DS and your router/ISP/Netflix/whatever drags on and on and on. I'm willing to accept this if it means over an hour of uninterrupted playback, but Blurriness due to lovely camera. Not indicative of image quality on 3DS. sometimes, it wants to stop and buffer at the worst goddamn possible time. This happened about three times throughout the film, and each instance lasted around twenty-five seconds. Netflix on any other device I own has no such problem. Conclusion: The Nintendo 3DS has the stamina for a whole shitton of viewing! It's a shame it has to stop so often to get its act together.

^^^ Dude you're gonna LOVE Europa Report! Okay, so I've never heard of Bad Milo! before however, it's got Stormare, Warburton, and the guy from Everybody oves Raymond or something. Then, the baby from Dinosaurs shows up, Oedipal issues ensue, and everybody starts sharting out monsters. This movie was amazing and a good commentary on society - except that I never realized that Indian dudes steal everybody's cougar mom. edit: This movie is really amazingly funny and insightful, and it has an amazing cast. coyo7e has a new favorite as of 05:20 on Mar 7, 2014 |

Last night I watched Blue Is the Warmest Color, and even 24 hours later, I still feel completely devastated. It has been on my mind all day long, I find myself going back and trying to remember each scene and pick it apart. I have not had a movie effect me this hard before, it really is on a entirely different level when it comes to the acting and story telling. The way the film progresses over several years is so fluid without needing to ever say or write down specific time frames, the dialogue is close tight shots that seem to go on forever yet are constantly engaging like you are in them, and the acting from the two lead ladies are the best I have ever seen without question. It does have a harsh NC-17 rating, and well deserved for the longest most intensive sex scene I have ever witnessed, but this film is so much more than all the controversy this scene has caused. It comes with a long run time of three hours, but every scene has a purpose; I never found a single one should have been cut out.

I've heard Call Me Kuchu is on Netflix (not the one I have) and it's a great documentary. I watched it at the local film festival a few weeks ago. It's about LGBT people in Uganda and the bill that would put them in jail. David Kato, a very prominent activist who was murdered during production, is my favourite thing about it. He was a lot of fun to watch, really funny guy. There's also a bishop who's like a Ugandan Desmond Tutu and quite a lot of rabidly homophobic pastors, including the one from this video.

It's not the complete season though, it's missing about 28 episodes of the Indigo League. Like 6 of them are the banned episodes but I'm not sure what the other episodes missing are. Probably just the actually Indigo League battles because I think they are considered the start of season 2 by VizKids.

They're missing well before the League starts (the League episodes start in the early 70s for both original and dub), and the episode they have as 52 was originally 55 in the dub rotation. There were only three episodes that were permanently cut from Indigo League (the Porygon seizure episode globally, and Beauty & The Beach and The Legend of Dratini in the dub). Any other banned ones are from later seasons or were only temporary. The two temporarily banned after 9/11 are there, so that's not it either. I haven't gone through to see what they didn't include, and haven't seen anything on when they're getting the rest or if they even are.

The worst thing about the Porygon episode is that Porygon and its evolutions were never in the show again, even though it was Pikachu's stupid thunderbolt that caused the crazy light flashes. gently caress Pikachu, Porygon owns.

I guess I'm an old cranky man. I went back and watched Rocko's Modern Life recently (which I adored as a lad), but I was pretty indifferent. I can see why I liked it when I was younger, but I can't really enjoy it now beyond one episode. I guess I can see revisiting for nostalgia's sake, but beyond that how do you guys do it?

I watched Pokemon as a kid, yes, and while I have no real burning desire to watch it all day every day like I did then, it's fun to sit down and watch it with my kid, who loves Pokemon now as much as I did when it first came out.

On topic: does anybody know why Psych hasn't been updated to include season 7? The DVDs have been out for months now.
