The sad part is that we really need to hope McConnell wins his primary, beyond the fact that he's a good source of humor like this. He's one of the few Senate Republicans willing to craft a compromise every now and then.

A conservative version of the Daily Show could never work because they'd only fixate on one issue for months on end and use the same clips over and over. I just really wish either Comedy Central or HBO, both networks who seem to pine for 'how the news was,' would either nut up or *team* up and use some of their profits to create a no-profit hour-long once-per-week news program that people could watch at their leisure or download for free. Nobody would give the fraction of a poo poo they give about either of those people if one hadn't been on SNL and the other on Loveline, both with much more interesting / funny people for them to play off of. It also doesn't help that when it comes to "conservative comedy" that by nature it pretty much has to be from the perspective of the status quo, so when you're making jokes about oppressed minorities you tend to come off as a piece of poo poo.
