Would this or the Morrowind thread be better for asking about some Oblivion mods? A friend of mine convinced me to give it another shake but as vanilla as possible. I bought it with the DLC but part of me can't resist throwing in some weapon and armour mods, UI mods, and graphical enhancers.

I enjoyed it some when I was younger, but found it wanting, and in hindsight really tore it apart. My friend prefers it to Skyrim because it still has things like actual stats and whatnot. We were talking about Elder Scrolls games on Friday night and he convinced me to give it another go mostly vanilla at first. What that probably means is I abandon a character 10-30 hours in so I can get one of those things that sorts the level scaling out and makes wondering into just anywhere occasionally dangerous, but still I want to give it a fair shake first, I said I would. EDIT: Danke Schon. I'll ask there.

Any good leveled loot mods? In Oblivion there was this mod that'd constantly check your items to see if they needed to be leveled up. If they did it'd do it for you automatically, keeping you constantly supplied with a level range appropriate version of weapons/items. Mainly asking because I just got the Nightingale set/Chillrend and they are already getting outpaced by some of the other stuff I'm finding.

Agents is right, Complete Crafting Overhaul Remade (Kryptopyr's, not the original one from Headbomb) is the one you're looking for. It comes with an upgrade level spell that you can activate at any time through the MCM.

There are some major problems with Oblivion, looking back - the NPC faces, general lack of reactivity (NPCs switching voices), the leveling system is pretty unintuitive) but all that stuff can be fixed with mods. Even stuff like Deadly Combat made the combat on par with Skyrims, which is cool. Makes me really hopeful for Skyrims future.

I just noticed that all of the enchantments on my clothes are being increased in effectiveness by about 25% when I put them on. I'm pretty sure this didn't happen before and I assumed this was fixed by one of the patches. Any clue what could be causing this? It is rather unbalancing.

Hi, I'm new to modding my PC version of Skyrim and I'm curious about follower mods. I saw there were two different main follower mods linked in the op and I was wondering which is preferable if I basically want to a) have more than one follower at once, b) make sure they don't die, c) make them level up with me, and d) cause as few bugs/conflicts as possible. Also, are there any modded unique followers people recommend, beside the ones linked in the OP? Thanks in advance.

Are there any mods for Skyrim that do the same thing as Invisible Armored Vests does for F:NV? I have that Common Clothing mod and I would like to wear normal clothing while having an armor rating. To toot my own horn I made Transmogrification that will let you copy stats from one armor to another so you could give your clothes the AR of whatever the best armor you've gotten so far. They'll still count as clothes for perks though and it modifies all of that types of item so all npcs with that set of clothes would get AR too.

Anyone using Skyrim Redone? I'm getting back in to the game, but it's been a few months and I'm not sure what's out there for perk changes (aside from SPERG) and improvements to combat. SkyRe looked kind of nice because I was going to make an archer who falls back on a 1h when poo poo gets too close and it seems like it'd facilitate that.

So I'm trying to run TES5Edit and it stops and gives me an error code 2 when it gets to immersive armor. It says it can't find Spike.esm. Is nexus more hosed up than usual right now? I'm trying to download Immersive Armors, which is admittedly huge. Downloading manually just downloads a 0 MB file, and downloading through MO is at 48% after about half an hour. Seriously Nexus, just charge for the adult content downloads and you'll be loving millionaires.

Derpy Skymodding questions: I recently decided to start playing Skyrim again (completed vanilla, then completed a light-mod (Apoc Spells, mostly) run before the DLCs dropped) and started by getting MO (and confused ). I started screwing around with MO, got some stuff working OK and then borked it well - ended up disabling/re-enabling the High-Res DLCs, since I'd added Book of Silence and wasn't seeing any notable changes. (I see missing textures now that they're re-enabled. D'oh!) If I create a new MO profile, will I be able to start from the default base game + paid DLC + HR DLC packs, and then screw up from there? (Or at least base+paid.) I can lose my saves - I was only stooging around to test the mods... well, some was to avoid working on the next set of mods. Also, is there a really-dirt-simple non-video "how to properly make merged patches" tutorial? Everything I was looking at so far seems to assume more working knowledge than I have. I did get Climates of Tamriel running, with a thunder & lightning plugin, and another lightning mod for *that*. This led to a fascinating blizzard lasting for my overloaded trudge from Whiterun to Riverwood, with full lightning effects. This is going to be disgusting when I add Get Snowy and Frostfall (because I'm a masochist, obviously - most of the north end of Skyrim already feels like my childhood growing up in Montana winters, why not add hypothermia and poo poo just to make it even more lifelike? )

I've been wondering, if I have a merged and/or bashed patch, will it break anything if I add a mod mid-game and rebuild it? Adding mods is supposed to be safe, but I don't know if doing that would alter the patch enough to cause problems.

Adding mods is supposed to be safe, but I don't know if doing that would alter the patch enough to cause problems. Rebuilding a merged patch with more mods won't mess up a save. A merged or bashed patch doesn't contain any unique records so rebuilding it won't result in something getting a new FormID (the number skyrim uses to identify objects). SkyProc patchers should also never result in existing formIDs changing so adding mods and rerunning ASIS or the like is fine. TesEdit scripts that do skyproc like stuff are more iffy since the author needs to keep track of that where skyproc does it under the hood. There are only a couple of mods that use them though and I don't think it would matter to any of those but who knows.

# ? Mar 18, 2014 01:15 |

You're supposed to rebuild any Merged/Bashed/SkyProc patches any time you add in a new mod, so it shouldn't break. To be safe, find an interior zone and make a save there before adding in a new mod and rebuilding your patches.
