I can't remember the last time I was this excited about the Giants during free agency. It's weird. I'm used to them sitting back and signing maybe one name and a bunch of depth and watching other teams fart on each other.

After this I don't see how we aren't going to go all offense/d-line in the draft.

At this point the only possibility is that Mack wants out of Cleveland, right?

If he loved Cleveland he would have signed long-term.
If it was about the money he'd sign the $10 mil tender.
If it was about money longer than one year, well, he didn't get any of those offers, and they ain't gonna materialize now, so he'd sign the tender.
But if he wants out of Cleveland he waits to see if the Browns rescind and he can reach a lower-price deal with other teams without the Browns being able to match it.

I don't like him at all but he's being rated as a top 15 selection. Take that as you will, I'm not right about every prospect.

I think Amaro, Niklas, or ASJ have the best chance to be the next Gronk. I don't think there are any Graham's in this class, although Ebron has a chance to be a shorter Graham.

Its actually more a function of front loading contracts and not handing out signing bonuses which are spread across multiple years. I mean Penn's contract called for 7 million this year and his dead money hit was less than half a million.

edit: here's three recent contracts for example signed within the last few years:

They're not all like that of course, Nicks would have cost us 7 million in dead money to cut this year and Vincent Jackson's contract got restructured last year so that there's now a lot of dead money later in the deal, but this is pretty much the model the Bucs have been trying to follow and I think its an effective one.
