Yeah, burning the photo kind of sealed the deal for me. Also it seems like now is the time to drop a ton of poo poo on the characters. After all the character building with Beth and Daryl, I just hope Beth didn't get an off screen death.

So who's the big Season 4 finale death? Season 2 had Shane, Season 3 had Andrea. I doubt it's any of the new guys, so maybe Carol? Beth perhaps, already dead? I figure someone is gonna kick it. Also, I like the girl who Glenn met in the prison, she's an interesting character and a good addition to the cast.

After the old dude's schpiel about how people don't need to be good to survive, just stick together in a group and follow some rules it will be absolutely stunning if terminus isn't cannibals.

Finding out beth's dinner would be the most cliche thing but they might actually do it.

Maggie, she already foreshadowed her own death in the most obvious way.

In the Claimed episode, did the guy lay claim to the bed Rick was hiding under? Also was it ever made clear if he died or was he just choked out, in reference to the character Rick didn't kill.

There is definitely something off about that place and the creepy women greeting them in the end.

I'd bet on one of Glenn/Maggie/Beth/Darryl dying. We're all thinking cannibals and Beth as the victim but they could also go with finding Beth in a cage or something and she survives but Maggie dies instead. The show resetablishes the bond and family thing with Beth/Maggie/Glenn and then subverts expectations by saving Beth only for Maggie to die. Or I could see Darryl with a heroic sacrifice as one final struggle with what kind of man he is costs him.

I could see Michonne maybe since she's grown so close to Carl and I have a hard time seeing Carl die. For Rick to lose Carl as he finds Judith would be too much, I think. But the way Michonne has become part of that family maybe I could see that so Carl loses another person he loves and it tears Rick up. But I hope not because I think Michonne brings too much to the table.

I'm hoping for none of these. I think Maggie is really rounding into a strong character, kind of the tv's version of the comic's Andrea in some ways. I think Glenn has real potential as a leader now and I'd like to see him and Maggie get some time. I'd also like to see Beth continue to develop into a full character and not simply be a casualty that Maggie barely even acknowledged. And I just like Darryl, but story wise I could see his time being up.

In fact Darryl's death would probably be the perfect one. It would hit the audience incredibly hard. It would hit the characters hard, especially Beth and Carol. Rick, Michonne, Carl, Maggie, and Glenn would be racked hard as well. He's in a very precarious position and he's getting pulled in the wrong direction right now. I could definitely see him dying to save Rick when the gang catches up to him, or saving Beth, or something. And honestly, he doesn't have much story left to tell and there's some other strong bad rear end characters stepping up in Abraham, Michonne, and arguably Glenn and Maggie. Darryl is looking dangerously expendable.

I really don't want any of the main characters to die. Which means I'm probably going to be pretty sad next week.

In other words, Darryl is a bad man and a survivor like they are who has convinced himself he's something else. He's a wild animal who has been domesticated.

Rick killed the guy in the bathroom. The guy who was on the floor was just unconscious, which is why the group has one guy who saw Rick's face.

The mayor of Terminus will throw a dinner party for all of the main characters in his mansion. The chef walks in with the main course, which turns out to be Beth's head on a plate, and stuck on her forehead will be the "thanks for the food" note she meant to leave at that house before she got kidnapped. The Mayor and the chef wink at each other and the laugh from the end of Thriller plays, ending season 4.

Abraham was wearing a big, heavy jacket as well instead of just a tank top. It seems obvious to me that they put them in the comic clothes at first just for the visual of ripping them out of the comics as a kick for the comic fans. But now they're bringing them back to a more grounded level to make them fit in the show. Less cartoon/comic now.

That would also leave Glenn free to care for/about people other than Maggie, which would enable him to take on a leadership role. Assuming that his response to grief is to assert himself rather than shutting down.

I'd be pretty happy if both she and Glenn died. They've been such boring, one-note characters for awhile now and I'd rather they go so some of the newer, more interesting people can stick around. Hopefully the leader of the Claim Gang is one of the characters that gets to stay, I like him.

I don't think Joe is going to survive the season. I figure the finale is going to be Rick & company vs the claim bandits, and Joe will die. If Terminus is cannibals, it'll probably be a last minute reveal and the meat of that will be covered in Season 5.

Something's definitely off about Terminus, but I refuse to believe they are cannibals just because how utterly cliche and stupid it would be. Maybe the final conflict would be between Rick and Daryl's new group leading to either them getting kicked out or destroying the colony. It would give the writers a chance to thin out the cast a bit and progress the main plot. Also we won't have to deal with any new characters that might be at Terminus already.

I really just want to see some progression in the plot and not have rehash of Woodbury/Prison over the first half the next season.

Beth suffered a tragic off screen death and that is the end of it.

Cannibal groups are a staple of post-apocalypse stories. It has to be done eventually. Introducing Terminus with a big barbecue seems like a strong hint.

Yeah, it's not like they would introduce a completely random side story in the season finale, or just ignore Beth completely: her story will tie in to either Terminus or Joe's group somehow. And there is only a couple of things that make sense when you start talking about people planning elaborate kidnapping scenarios in a post-apocalyptic world.

It'll be cannibals, it has to be. I expect at least one speech from their not-Governor saying "THIS IS SURVIVAL WE GOTTA DO WHAT IT TAKES" and a Rick or Michonne retort that if that's survival than humanity doesn't deserve surviving. This show will always go the most cliche and lazy way.

I'm worried, perhaps irrationally, about Carl. The trio seems to be too hunky dory for a show that brutally murders a little girl after she says "Everything always works out!" with a smile. The poster for the finale is the three of them with the caption: Who Will Arrive? with Carl kinda in like a gray haze. The poster for this half of the season is of Carl and Rick on the train tracks looking in opposite directions, which always made me wonder if something comes between them. His death would launch Rick back into insanity, which the show likes to do. I don't know. Stupider things have been posted.

Or it means they kill off Rick. That would suck, but would be cool if the show was that ballsy.

The game did this, and it did this far, far better. The villains were cliche as gently caress (in fact a negative I put against the episode) but they used it as a springboard for actual character development.. so you can do interesting things with something like this.

I just don't think they will, if they go that route.

Good ep, and I take back everything I said previously about Doctor Eugene McMullet M.D. Even though he's probably calculated that having other people with their particular skills increases his own chances of survival.

I wonder how long they're going to stretch out the Terminus probably cannibals storyline. Or if it will just be squeezed into an ep:

I think this is a possibility now that 1) we've seen Michonne was a mother, and evidently a decent one, and 2) she's not a surly perpetual loner anymore.

Also, I think the 'hitch' of Terminus is going to be something more cliched than cannibals - I'm expecting a pagan "Wicker Man"/"Worship the Earth Mother" sort of cult vibe that'll kick into high gear once Darryl's new 'friends' arrive there. In other words, a female Governor with with ~devotees~, not citizens. It'd be lazy writing, but it'd also be *easy* writing, which worries me. "Lower your weapons / You will be met" while you walk into a dead end alley also means you've had weapons pointed at you for some time, too.

I don't think cannibalism would fly, even though it did in the comics, because generally someone has to be dead and cooked for you to eat them, and since everyone knows that people turn when they die, there's no way they'd know if eating the flesh passed on the 'disease' or not unless someone decided to take one for the team.

The one thing I'm absolutely loving certain of is that someone very prominent has to die in the season finale as penance for the Glenn/Maggie reunion. It's just how this poo poo works - every happy moment is paid for by something horrifically tragic. Hell, Maggie insisting Glenn burn her photo might as well have been a death sentence.
