BiggerBoat posted:Can you elaborate on this, because seriously, what the gently caress? I thought liberals wanted be Santa Clause and give everything away for free and that "Obamaphones" was a thing in their minds. How can liberals want to take away phones give them to poor people at the same time? March 12, 2014 posted:RUSH: Now, Obama did say (paraphrasing), "If you can't afford Obamacare, then give up your cable TV or your phone." It happened on Spanish-language media. It was Thursday. Obama was at the Newseum, and he participated in a town hall focusing on the importance of Latinos capitalizing on the benefits of Obamacare. It was hosted by a partnership of people, Hispanic-oriented media types. I agree, let's take an honest look at why health care in the country is as expensive as it is without equivalent outcomes compared to other first world countries. I love how the last few sentences mesh perfectly with our discussion of how liberals just want to control everything, because it is another thing Limbaugh consistently goes on about on his show as he constructs his evil liberal strawmen. Another amusing thing that happened today was Limbaugh revisited his impersonation of Hu Jintao when a Democratic representative that took offense to him being offensive was arrested on corruption charges quote:RUSH: Yeah, I'm holding here my formerly nicotine-stained fingers that very story. "State Sen. Leland Yee was taken into San Francisco's Federal Building wearing handcuffs after he was detained Wednesday morning in connection with a political corruption probe. A spokeswoman for the FBI would not elaborate because the raids were ongoing..." I think the big difference is that Belushi was a comedian and not someone claiming to be America's anchorman, which implies he's actually conveying news.

I noticed Rush recently added the tag line "America's Most Influential Conservative". It seems he dodges political responsibility most of the time but this seems like a change.

It also involved some new (to Limbaugh) study about potential cancer links with cellphones. All research and attempts to understand risk are inherently liberal I guess. So says "nutrition is nonsense eat whatever you want" fatfuck scientist Rush Limbaugh.

Oh one more thing, Limbaugh also claimed that there are no Republicans even entertaining thoughts of impeaching Obama. I found this in under 5 seconds, which was coincidentally the time it took me to type it into a search box, hit enter, and wait for the results page to render.

Well, that and also Belushi wasn't coming from a place of angry mockery, belittlement and hate and on top of that it was also, like, 40 years ago to boot.

They are complaining about a Democratic president just continuing a program started and extended by Republican presidents (Reagan & Bush 43 respectfully)

Debating on policy or actions is a waste since with the vast majority of Obama's conservative detractors the stuff they are outraged about at that particular minute is just the excuse they use for hating him in the first place.

Guilty Spork posted:I'm reminded of how someone said that conservatives don't boycott either Wait, what? Boycotts are one of the few free-market solutions to the problem of companies doing bad stuff! Sure, they're not often successful because they're so hard to coordinate, but at least they rely on consumer choice rather than regulations. I can see why conservatives would object to individual boycotts (most of the people who "buycotted" Chick-Fil-A must have done so because they wanted the boycott to fail), but how can a fiscal conservative object to the practice?

Well ya see most of "conservative philosophy" is basically just a cover for acting like a selfish or intolerant rear end in a top hat. There are some people who really believe in it I'm sure but the majority of media personalities/politicians flat out ignore principle when it doesn't suit their immediate opinions/purposes.

Today Limbaugh suggested his cigar smoking has caused him to only get sick once every two years or so. Not that his cigar smoking makes him sick, but that it actually lowers the rate at which he gets sick in general. Because of nicotine. Somehow.VitalSigns posted:Also known as the standard conservative response to anyone who wants health insurance but can't afford it. And seriously $316 a month is cheap as hell for insurance that will cover most anything you could need and if you can't spare it making 36k gross a year then you're loving up somewhere. A year ago I was paying $160 a month for a plan my employer paid half of and I got jack poo poo for coverage. $320 a month for basically catastrophic.
