In a Bubble sure. He probably got paid too much. But in comparison with his peers he got paid the right amount. See QB contracts for reference.

Much like people forgetting how to drive in snow year after year, fans tend to forget that free agents get overpaid year after year. DE was a position of need for Chicago, especially after letting Peppers go, so they signed the best one available...get over it.
