In order of things I did.

Shadows/highlights, raised the shadows by a few percent.
Brightness contrast. Contrast up a ton to combat that haze, brightness bumped until the snow looked prominent.
Vibrance/Saturation, both up just a few points. A little goes a LONG way.
Color balance, remove the blue.

Awesome picture.
I like the B&W version as well. Hell of a shot man.

You did a great job at making the highlights on the left look like garbage.

Thanks :)

I tried to emulate what you did but I am failing miserably at it. I'll have to keep on practicing, because I do like the sky tone you got there and the rest of the colors, which I can't quite get.

edit: I'll take this to the proper thread to stop derailing.

I'll cut some slack because they were working with a jpeg. It would probably go a lot better working the original file.

You realize that if you keep taking pictures as cool as this, you're going to have to change your name.

We may have years, we may have hours, but sooner or later we push up flowers.

Hell of a lot of shadow clipping in the spiky foreground bush.

Nice -- would make a good diptych.

Haha, whats the story with the bus? Some dude just wanted it in their yard? That's a great photo.

Ossy Park would be a goldmine for these kind of shots, one big suburb of light industrial built in the 70/80's.

I trust you've found the Worst of Perth blog Deaders?

Yeah I love TWOP, been reading it for years. Ossy Park is a great area, this was just a short walk around 2-3 blocks, there are so many good photos hidden around there.

No idea about the bus - the strange part is that has the Adelaide transport logo on it so someone either drove it over or paid to have it transported here.

It's hard to define the scope of this thread, yet it's still very specific.
