i think you could do well to move to gpgpu. buy old cards off broke rear end bitcoiners thousands of loops per card, Ian! Thousands! Running in the card. Then you can have a box of cards off the pcix bus, a sea of intense loops running in the cards, a tiny babbling brook of cooked and uncooked data over the bus

Okay realtalk for a sec here, Ian, are you talking about allowing users to upload code that will get run in the cloud, and preventing that code from eating up all your resources? How you solve this depends on how you make money. Amazon virtualizes and just charges you for cpu time so they don't care. Wolfram Alpha times out requests after some short amount of processing time.

wait i thought ian was working for wolfram couldn't he get like insider access to run as many infinite loops as he wanted

i think you can get an infinite loop down to a single active element? consider an OISC, like subtract and branch if not zero, pointing at a single bit of memory set a few points on rails as parts of the instruction, and have the one active element be the part of the information that's flipping im handwaving a little but im pretty sure you can define 'memory' in such a way that the machine is just flipping between two adversely set bits in such a way that it won't see/need rest of the 'tape' just one oscillator

seriously though... even if I do push marketing and tutorial efforts on this thing at the current moment, that AWS bill will kill me. It is a good concept, but until I get some real support, this thing can't go anywhere.
