I have no objections to Jeb Bush running for president. He obviously has a wide appeal as a potential candidate. With a Mexican wife, and as a man who speaks fluent Spanish, he would be able to increase the Hispanic vote in the GOP column. On the other hand, many in the Republican base find his position on immigration untenable, and would fight him tooth and nail during primary season. He is also a serious advocate of education reform. His support of Common Core, however, will also find many who are in the conservative ranks objecting, since they fear that Common Core represents educational centralism and having the government ram federal standards down their throats.

What I do object to is that Bush is already being heralded as the obvious candidate, the man to whom the big money must and will flow. As the Washington Post (Influential Republicans working to draft Jeb Bush into 2016 presidential race)

No, he would not.

Coming out with a clear vision on how to grow the economy and restore the freedoms that made this country a magnet for immigrants will win votes.

Pandering in Spanish will not change the minds of people voting themselves more "free stuff".

It's Cruz/Paul or Paul/Cruz that wins. There are too many femnazzis and their sympathizers that are turned off by Palin. If she were mentioned to head the Department of Energy, that would make sense.

Ted Nugent would be too out there for a lot of voters, and easily be marginalized.
West makes me nervous. He supported reparations for "descendents of black farmers". He showed his colors also on the Trayvon Martin situation, I think mostly by not identifying Martin as the thug he was. And now, West has emails beating the war drums instead of speaking about defending the US. Plus, to be perfectly honest, a lot of voters would stay with the status quo RINO rather than vote for another black president after the current disaster.

It's Cruz and Paul that capture the US imagination with new ways of thinking and articulating constitutional conservative values. Did you see Cruz's 21 hours when Rand Paul asked him some tough questions? They were good together, and seemed to bring out the best in each other.

I see a Jeb Bush presidential run going two ways:

-They either lose Freep/Tea Party votes and Ted Cruz runs as an independent which causes a glorious trainwreck
-They retain Freep/Tea Party but they still clear only 45-49% of the vote and stare at each other confused how they still lost the Latin vote despite having a genuine latina in front of cameras, just as it was with their dozens of other attempts to get other ethnic groups to vote for them.

Either way it's gonna be freep tears of the finest vintage come November 2016

Well yeah but No Child Left Behind is a pretty transparent plan to strangle the public sector and increase dependence on the private sector. As for Common Core it's an example of government overreach because of who is president when it became a thing.

oBomaScare and the 'due date', along with the fact that DC has it primary for Mayor today, just proves that people in 'high places' have either a real sense of IRONY or a fair sense of humor.

To have both such misconstrued events fall on APRIL FOOLS DAY is as much a sense of brilliance as "The Cable Guy" and his 'Only a genius would build a city 5 feet below sea level and fill it with LIBERALS that can't swim'(close) as being 'good, timely statements'.

"They" have skewered the books and numbers so bad that NO one has a clue as to what is up.

Maybe 'we' should elect a 'weak' Pres/Senate/House for the next term as the first four years or going to be 'wasted' getting this mess somewhat straightened out. No sense 'wasting' (real) GOOD people for that period, get the seat(s) and get to work. Here is I believe a fundamental problem with this poll. The first question in the poll:

Overall, do you support or oppose the federal law making changes to the health care system? Do you feel that way strongly, or somewhat?

Notice, it does not say "Obamacare". It does not say "The Affordable Care Act". It does not in fact identify the law at all. It says "the federal law making changes to the health care system".

Well, given that people are somewhat ignorant, and given that Obama is acting illegally anyway, how many people took one of Obama's last three months of announcements of "changes in the health care law", and assumed they were new law that was "changing the health care system", and are happy with THESE changes, and support THESE changes?

After all, a lot of conservatives supposedly supported it now. Maybe that was conservatives saying they supported the delay in the mandate that we have been fighting for the past 2 years.

The post poll has always been more positive for the health care law than all the other polls, because it tries so hard to hide what it is asking.

This is an interesting and illuminating analogy. I guess it's a good thing that most Freepers are too old to have young children, since they'd probably just lock them in a cage with a copy of The 5,000 Year Leap while they argue about Nobummer and Moochelle on the internet for 12 loving hours.

Most no longer have contact with their families if the holiday posts/threads are any evidence. So it's basically a bunch of retired people with nothing better to do.

Toss Paul Ryan in prison.

He can bunk with McCain in the moslem wing.

Ryan’s budget ideas are pure fraud. This should have been the indication of where he was coming from long before his true nature became evident vis a vis immigration. The first iteration assumed 4% growth, uninterrupted, for a decade. A rate of growth and perhaps more saliently, a consistency of growth that has never been achieved in US history.

Harry is obsessed with the Koch brothers. How does an old fart, senile Senator get away with targeting one family, who has done more to help the poor & sick than this old fool ever has (even with taxpayers money) is beyond me!

Passing gas 101: What your flatulence patterns mean for your health

Years ago, when I was a kid in 7th grade, we were in church for Tuesday morning mass.

Fat Eddie D was standing directly in front of me. There was a reason we called him “Fat Eddie”. This kid was huge for his age.

Anyway... he let one rip. And boy, was it ever a cheek-flapper. Just nasty. So I cracked up, along with all the other boys around me.

Out of nowhere, I get smacked solidly in the head from behind. A Righteous Hand of Divine Retribution....

Sister Helen “Most Homicidal” had slipped into the pew behind us, and singled ME out for laughing, her mustache and unibrow all a-twitching in fury.

I was alternately stunned from the smack, and gagging from the stench, and I blurted out “What the hell are you hitting ME for? I didn’t blast that one!!!”

The Priest stopped the service momentarily and me and five other kids had detention for about two weeks.

True story...

A fond memory to be sure....

Since Hubby has been out of work, he’s been, shall we say, more “relaxed” at home during the day, since he’s the only one in the house. There are days I come home from work, and he’s in the family room, and it hits you like a wall. I’ve gotten to where I don’t even say anything, I just start lighting scented candles.

Let me decode for everyone. By “regulate farm animal methane” the obama regime means American taxpayers will have to “pony up” a few more trillion dollars to make things “normal.”

What Can Educators do to End White Supremacy in the Classroom? (Not A Joke)

quote:

To: TexasCajun
Mostly white folks in the photo. Tools.

We can start with the issue of white supremacy by exposing this topic for the collectivist, vengeful poison that it is.

Then we can call out to the urban populace to re-acquire the model of the responsible, wise nuclear family.

And quit sending the kids to public schools, for cryin out loud.

Speaking as the parent of a high school sophomore, articles like this (and the one about the Miley Cyrus course) have absolutely convinced me that college is a complete waste of time and money for all except those seeking a highly technical education.

Really the left has constructed 3 layers of guilt ( now moving it to 4)

(The new top layer is straight vs gay & gender ambiguous)

The (Old ) top layer is Male vs Female (& also self id gender ambiguous)

Then White vs Black (& then any other non white & alse self id race ambiguous)

Then human vs non human (or meat vs not meat eater? See the new Noah movie)
