Wanamingo posted:TTDB actually goes in the political cartoons thread. Not entirely sure why, but that's where it's always posted. Well, to be fair, it is almost always political. The only TTDBs that would really make sense to post here are the Super-Fun-Pak pages.

An underwear company in the 90s, Fruit of the Loom, I think, glued teeny tiny underwears just like that in magazine ads to show people how comfy their new waistband was. I still have my little pair somewhere.

In the past we've given Super-Fun-Pak-Comix a day pass out of op-ed land. But never (NEVER!) the overtly political installments, because a few years ago somebody got it in their heads to "answer" Doonesbury with Mallard Fillmore. That type of mutually assured destruction is Oh Baby levels of heinous...

Piranha Club Dick Tracy As we've seen in last week's strips, Dick Tracy will be investigating Little Orphan Annie's disappearance. We'll have to wait though, because the story isn't going to resume until June 1st. Judge Parker 9 Chickweed Lane Never underestimate the power of Brooke's drawings to make a group flaccid.

This is just a quick reminder that the movie Stripped drops on iTunes tomorrow. It's a movie about the past, present, and future of comic strips. They interviewed dozens of cartoonists including Richard Thompson, Kate Beaton, Bill Amend, Kris Straub, and Bill Watterson. I highly recommend you check it out. Edit: The movie poster was also done by Bill Watterson. RandomPauI fucked around with this message at 06:36 on Apr 1, 2014 |

Gil Worse, when you grow up everyone will call you the coddled "Trophy Generation" or some BS and blame all your troubles on you for not bootstrapping hard enough. Retail Develop a biochemical weapon to kill everyone on Earth but yourself. It's the only way to be sure. Also since everyone will be dead you can just live off their stockpiles of goods in the now empty stores and never have to work for the rest of your life. Only downside is if you get injured or sick you're screwed since no one's around to help you. Bleeker the Rechargeable Dog I'm sure there's an app for that ( Dustin Dustin's the only one who dressed up, and wore jeans to boot. Nice. On the Fastrack That would apply to "Fi" regardless of who you paired her with. Safe Havens Who can break it the fastest? It's like Hot Potato but infinitely more boring. So the backs of those heads are supposed to be approximations of Popeye, the baby from Hi & Lois, Snufkin and... I dunno, Dennis the Menace? I mean I'm not even sure those are intentional cameos, but the hair on the second from the left followed by the all-green outfit of the third makes me think so.

Skippy (January 11, 1927) Peanuts (April 1, 1967) Funky Winkerbean After a week of bludgeoning us with "girls can be geeks, too!", we fall back into the status quo. Popeye There's an interesting story behind Swee'pea being a genuine crown prince before he was a foundling, but unfortunately Segar died while he was writing it and the reprint volumes always end when Segar ends, so finding the end of the story would be an archaeological dig. A thing brought up on Comics Kingdom: Swee'pea's full name is Scooner Seawell Georgia Washenting Christiffer Columbia Daniel Boom. Odds are that none of those are his real last name, either.
