Step 1: Accept that they are correct and wait until the film comes out to make an article, and even then only if it gets substantial media coverage.

There's no step 2.

Try making a page on IMDB instead since that is basically wikipedia for movies and tv stuff.

Yeah, don't be insulted, by "nonnotable" they probably mean "not a huge blockbuster, not by a really famous filmmaker, doesn't have a major following of fans studying it before it's even made."

I know, subjectivity and death of the author and all, but the Wikipedia editors have to draw a line somewhere, otherwise it could become an avenue for promoting every last tiny insignificant documentary that some :freep: person makes about Obama, HAARP, and Agenda 21.

So basically, I know it sucks and I agree with you that this film's legitimacy is probably many levels above, say, the movie version of Birth Control Is Sinful In The Christian Marriages And Also Robbing God Of Priesthood Children , but accept that the wiki editors have to draw the line somewhere and you can almost certainly post an article after the movie is out, and allude to the prior press coverage, etc.

Do Chinese Americans ever refer to themselves as Chinese? Or Korean Americans as Koreans? In reference to their ethnicity, not their nationality, of course. I was just wondering how in some (most?) other countries, people of different ethnicities don't usually attach their nationality to the label.

I help clean out the occasional house for my landlord, and this time I came across a handful of vegas casino tokens. They are all $1 tokens, some with dates in the late 1980s, all from different casinos. Obviously they're the evicted tenant's souvenirs, and I might keep them just for the interest aspect, but;

Are they worth anything more than the $1 face value?

It'll depend on what specific casinos, though in bulk they'll tend to sell for like 1/3 of face value. Some of them end up worth full face value to collectors, and some associated with particular events or a limited-run style can be worth much more than face value.

You can also try calling the casinos they're from to see what they'll have to say about it, most won't take them for trade anymore but occasionally some will.

Nah, I couldn't care less. The person asked me to because they didn't want someone associated with the page. I told them it was unlikely to be approved, but I tried my best by adding a lot of sources about the film that made it notable. Oh well.

One of the rooms in my house was a spare for a long time, and I think was used as a "crash" room for house parties for a few years. Anyways, there's a terrible mystery smell (probably vomit under the carpet)in there that hasn't come out with a deep carpet shampoo and having the walls clorox wiped down. Is there any kind of thing we can keep in the room to neutralize the smell? Like a sock full of baking soda or some poo poo? Does anything like that actually work?

Anything you do is just going to mask the smell. The only permanent solution is finding out what stinks and removing it. Try to localize the source of the stink and get rid of whatever it is. Even if you have to tear up carpet one bedroom isn't more than a weekend worth of work.

The first thing I'd do is remove all the furniture and let the room air out for a couple days. Then go around sniffing until you find the stinkiest spot. When you find the spot get out your Stanley knife and excise a square of carpet/drywall to locate the offending material.

Don't overlook the possibility that the smell may be coming from furniture or a vent.

I'm trying to find a temporary tattoo solution. It needs to survive one night of sweating and being touched sometimes without smearing or smudging. Right now I am focused on simple, stark black designs. Eyeliner sealed with hairspray worked OK, but it smudged too easily and I was not satisfied with how clean the lines were, so I'm investigating alternatives

Are there any sorts of ink pens that would work?

Does anyone here have experience with using water slide paper to create temporary tattoos with an inkjet printer? I've googled and most say to apply a "fixative" or "clear coat" after applying the decal to seal it, but they always seem to be talking in the context of inanimate objects. What are the ingredients of those things? Would those be safe to apply to skin?

Flagged for deletion doesn't necessarily mean deleted. It means someone thinks it should be, but others may not agree. There's way too many articles up for deletion for me to guess which one it is, tell me and I'll give more concrete advice.

Edit: Ah, I see, Trichster. It's been PRODded, a Proposed Deletion. Literally removing the notice counts as contesting it; they'd have to go through the effort of formally nominating it for deletion to continue. As it says, "You may remove this message if you improve the article or otherwise object to deletion for any reason."

It doesn't take any power to PROD; in fact it's literally the least one can do to delete an article, and stopping it takes exactly as much effort.

That said, looking at the article... the sourcing is not sufficient. The Bitch Flicks link is self-written and therefore not a quality source; the Crowd Fund Insider link does not confer any notability on the subject (and in fact grants it a single paragraph, the same as the six other films mentioned); and the Indiewood link is also self-written. For most things on Wikipedia, especially media, mere existence - which can be easily sourced - is not enough. It has to be shown as considered notable by multiple third-party sources. That's not in evidence here.

If you contest the PROD, you need to find better sourcing for notability, perhaps from a medical organization talking about it, or a news source interviewing about it and/or saying how it might help people. But if you cannot, at this point, then let it get deleted. There's no shame in it, nor harm. When you get viable sourcing, then go ahead and try to remake it. Until then, please don't. Continuing to make it after it's been validly deleted will not accomplish anything.

Just a guess, but you might want to try clear coat nail polish. Million of women use that all the time, so it can't be all that bad to apply to the skin.

If all you want is a temporary black tattoo, then why not just go with a henna tattoo? For all the trash talking about hippies, Henna doesn't wash off easily.

That's a good idea but please be careful with black henna; iirc there is black henna available that is really just henna, but sometimes "black henna" has a chemical in it that can cause bad allergic reactions. If you google it you'll find info about it easily (on my phone or I'd post a link).

That's nothing.

One time in college, we got a letter at our house that was not meant for us. Our address was something like:

123 Fake St.
Troy, NY 12180

The letter was addressed to someone in Florida. The ONLY thing that was the same was the street number.

Not the street name, not the town name, and the zip wasn't even close, or even closed to a transposed ZIP. And in addition, no one who lived there shared the first or last name of the person the letter was addressed to. The handwriting was neat, so it seems weird that the scanners would mis-read it.

The letter came from some state prison, also in Florida.

To this day, I have no idea how that mix-up could possibly have happened (and yes, it had a stamp and postmark on it, so it wasn't just someone pulling a weird prank with a fake letter.)

When I get my cup of coffee in the morning, I usually put an ice cube in it to cool it down faster; otherwise I'm too big of a pussy to just drink it steaming hot, and I don't want to wait.

This is one of those questions I assume I know the answer to, but I've gotta ask anyway in case there's some weird physics thing I haven't thought of (because I don't know anything about physics): Is there any difference between adding my ice cube before the coffee is poured, as opposed to after it's had a few minutes to cool on its own? Obviously the ice melts faster when I put it in first, because the coffee's at its hottest, but in the end it's still the same amount of cold water introduced into the drink, so shouldn't the effect be exactly the same? The longer lifespan of the postponed ice cube doesn't make any difference, does it?

Heat transfer is quickest when the temperature difference is greatest, so you'll lose some heat "for free" then more when you put the ice cube in, as opposed to melting the cube really quickly, then losing heat shower from the cooler liquid.

If you had an infrared thermometer you could do a parallel experiment, but I bet the difference would be minuscule.
