Like those Sivana pages posted a little while back. I think it was this thread. The Most Brilliant Evil Scintist In The World's Grand Scheme when Captain Marvel was out of town was to just start shooting cops.
That was amazing. I love that kids in the 50s were allowed to read comics about cop killers but I bring one Ice-T album to school in the 90s and all poo poo breaks loose.

Also hasn't JJJ been flying that Iron Hitler Jonah suit around for months now?

To be fair, it wasn't long into the fifties that all poo poo did break loose for comics.

So OG Loki or whatever it was the All-Mother released has gone back in time to influence the future. As part of his plan, he needs to steal a Dwarf's gold, but the Dwarf in question has turned itself into a giant pike because Norse Mythology is kind of wacky like that.

Luckily, Loki has planned ahead before coming to the past.

"Recoilless" does not mean "zero recoil". A recoilless weapon has ports in the back of it that permit some of the propellant gases to escape, creating a thruster that reduces the recoil of the projectile launch long enough that the launch tube remains stable.

I think that half of his FF runwas inked either by Joe Sinnott or Byrne himself.

Byrne inked over his own art for that issue, and almost all of his FF run. It's his last really good work, outside of a handful of issues of She-Hulk.

I looked up some quotes of his to remind myself, and these two were right on top of each other.

quote:

I have been pilloried for my work on Superman, Spider-Man, Doom Patrol, and in the early days even FF and X-Men, yet I have never once said the creators of those series/characters “didn’t get it right.” It disgusts me not only to read Gaiman saying this—about Jack Kirby of all people!—but to see the cartwheels people are willing to turn in order to make his words seem other than what they are. Apparently, dissing one of the greatest talents this industry has produced is okay, as long as you’re on the Approved List. Next, how Eisner screwed up the Spirit, and Lee and Ditko on Spider-Man—what the heck were they thinking?? Maybe you should keep in mind, then, that the only person who knows if a creator “got it right” is the creator himself.

quote:

As I have noted elsewhere, and with the clarity of hindsight, I think Stan and Jack made a mistake when they decided to make Thor the “real” Thor.

Before I found out what a huge jerk he was, I had stopped liking him because his art had gotten rushed and sloppy compared to what he used to do - though to be fair the bad art also meant I was more likely to notice the bad writing too. Spider-Man Chapter One was when I really realized,"Yeah, this guy isn't bringing it anymore."

Then again, I never read Next Men, that was the one with the Senator pedophiles, wasn't it?

Man, everybody's fuckin' somebody in the comics; little kids, aliens, dead clones, earth elementals - it's just a thing. Can't get angry at that. You just have to shrug it off, fold it up and shove it in the fridge with all the dead girlfriends.

I'm going to say, I love Nova's Magneto helmet in that daydream. Also does the Ultimate universe even have a Nova? I remember Rick Jones taking the name briefly, but I think he was based more on Frankie than Rich or Sam.
