Nah I don't remember it being quite as dramatic a plot as LA Confidential, and I'd most likely remember a cast like that. I don't know that the movie I'm thinking of had quite as famous a cast.

This guy had hosed up somehow and a couple olf goons brought him before the big boss, who lectured him, then to make sure he wouldn't gently caress up again he had some kind of machine that sucked out his gross phlegm and he made the guy drink it.

I saw this in the early 90s or late 80s, was young enough it's really fuzzy.

I think I saw this on HBO late one night.

It wasn't Constantine and it wasn't Priest.

Alright, turns out the movie I was thinking of was The Order with Heath Ledger.

That's really all I have on it and it's eluded me for years, though I never tried too hard to look for it.

That's really pretty vague, but there have been a couple episodes of Columbo (which are between 90 and 120 minutes) that take place on movie/TV sets. The episodes were all filmed between the late 60s up through the early 2000's off and on.

I don't know about timeless, as the clothing, decor, cars and technology are very firmly planted in the decades they were filmed.

It's a very broad answer, but if I can get more people watching Columbo, I feel like I've accomplished something.

It was a first-person viewpoint of someone in a gas mask carrying around something toxic and other people dying as he walked past. I think there was a scene where he enters an elevator and a couple people in business attire choke to death. Very vague and I might be misremembering, does anyone have a guess?

Time for a trip to yesteryear, when I stayed up after 9 PM to watch horror movies on Showtime/Cinemax/HBO!

Early-to-mid '80s, slasher film, American, I'm pretty sure it was R-rated for violence/tits. I want to say the action took place in the south/southeast US somewhere, isolated old big house with a bunch of idiots running around being picked off, the usual...

Except the part I really remember was that one girl got captured, tied or wired across a table saw in the basement, and the (unidentified at that point) killer flips the switch!

And nothing happens. CLICK. CLICK-CLICK. Well, gently caress.

More killings ensue, I want to say the killer got whacked but may be wrong, and at the end some cop opens the (exterior) basement door, flips the light switch at the top of the stairs, and a table saw spinning up is heard... so he flips the switch back off and wanders off.

It was a horrid piece of poo poo of a movie, but that pair of scenes stuck with me. I fully expect it to be as disappointing as other late-night tripe I devoured at that age, but I kinda want to *verify*.

I'm looking for the name of a fake documentary I tried to watch but couldn't finish cause it was just really brutal. I think it was British made but takes place in America and is all Americans. It's the sixties/early seventies, and the government has this new program where they take radicals and leftists out to the desert, and force them to run until they die. I think it was made around the same time it depicts, it at last looked like it.

I'm looking for a seriously B-grade horror film I saw on Big Chuck and Little John (Cleveland's late night horror movie show) when I was a kid. It had something to do with the hex signs you see around rural Pennsylvania. I think the plot was that some city folk moved into an old Pennsylvania farm, and the wife hated the hex signs so they took them all down. Then, the creature living in the house got out and killed everyone in really gruesome ways. I remember a scene where you could see two glowing eyes in a window in a picture of the front of the house, and a car accident where a woman rear-ends a flatbed truck full of pipes, then is trapped in the car as it bursts into flames and burns her alive.

Oh hi, Greg.
I saw a movie when I was very young - I'm guessing younger than 5 - on HBO or another cable channel. All I really remember is a scene where a guy is desperately trying to pull his hand out of a handcuff or manacle. He keeps pulling and it starts to cut his wrist. Eventually it looks like it is peeling the skin off of his hand, but it also seems like the blood is making his fist more slippery. The guy becomes even more determined - rather than being disturbed by the damage he is doing, he seems encouraged by the added lubrication. In my memory, the scene is intercut with another scene for added dramatic tension. Also, my memory wants to convince me that it isn't a contemporary setting - that it's something like Clash of the Titans. i do think the guy was shackled to a boulder. Could be way off on that, conflating and combining two or more hazy things into one. Of course, it could also be a dream I had - but part of the memory is a very specific recollection of the place and time I was in. I watched a LOT of inappropriate stuff at a very early age at my father's friend's house while they got stoned and played chess. This would have been somewhere between 1980 and 1982, if I'm right - though the film may be older than that. It was in color though. Finally, I can't say whether the guy escapes or not - emotionally, it feels to me like he did, but that may be that someone came in and turned off the TV and TOLD me that he would be fine (they used to tell me "it's just ketchup, buddy" whenever someone got shot in the movies I watched at that age.

I saw a weird movie on TV once that I was too young to see, probably only 10 or 11 (I'm 26). It looked like it was filmed in the 70s or 80s to me. It was super sexual. One scene had a woman in a short dressing gown sitting down on a glass coffee table and talking to other women, only for it to turn out that some guy was lying underneath licking the glass. In another scene a big burly white guy is loving a black woman who I think was a hooker or not into it at least. He says "you sure don't gently caress like no friend of the family" and she yells "oh baby, your balls are like a bear's". I think she and the other girls might have been plotting to kill him? This totally sounds like porn but there is no way they just stuck porn on the TV, there are no channels like that where I live.
