I love that the final enemies in the show about Gunpla, is knockoffs.

The bootlegged knockoffs seemed to be selling pretty well in Arian-land. It's nice literally everyone got a happy ending, I guess. Except the Renado brothers.

Speaking of missing characters, it's great how Julian couldn't be bothered to watch his best friend's final round.

So am I right in guessing that Nils and Caroline were responsible for finding a workable solution to the 'Gunpla Battle doesn't work any more' problem? I can't read Japanese.

Nils re-invented plavsky particles, and Caroline's dad's company became the new gunpla battle sponsors.

boom boom boom posted:what a terrible episode that was As far as I can tell it existed solely because somebody wanted to see the Exia fight the F91. Which is a pretty good reason! I guess it also fleshed out Yuuki's characterization a little more without just forcing everyone to read his sidestory manga but eh.

boom boom boom posted:what a terrible episode that was It wasn't even a terrible episode on its own, just completely out of left field and totally unnecessary. The "I'm not like the second Meijin" Yuuki plot could have been covered in a two minute snippet, not a full episode of him having a match against some guy they introduce then and there who then promptly disappears.

Late to the responses here, but I really enjoyed this show. Great characters, good fights and the staff was just having a ball. There were some downsides, but there are far more postivies then negative. This is what was needed after AGE. Also I know it's a bit silly, but I do hope that more people get into gunpla because of this show. I've been building gunpla for over a decade, and it's still a lot of fun. I hope more people get to enjoy the hobby.

So apparently /m/ put together a little 300 pic Gunpla collage (arranged in reference to SBS's "Gunpla of Gunplas" victory pose, of course) and sent it to the Build Fighters staff. Seems they really appreciated it.

Wow, that was a trip. Saw this series recommended over in Poptarts Ninja's "Let's Play BattleTech" thread and blitzed through it over the course of last week. (It was the screencap of Bernie and Chris congratulating Al on his win that did it.) Great stuff all around. Also reawakened my old addiction to Gunpla; went and dug a bunch of old models I never started work on out of storage, and even ended up ordering an HGBF Zaku Amazing and Miss Sazabi. ... Now I need to get some actual modeling supplies so I can actually work on this stuff. Also, dumb question: even though the subs had him calling her by her family name, what was Sei actually calling China during the series? It sounded like he was saying "Incho" or something like that. Kanos posted:He left the show as abruptly as he entered it. Perhaps his sudden inclusion and departure were meant as an oblique reference to how F91 was originally intended to be a full series and had its budget slashed so they had to basically take what they had and compile it into a movie.

I'm rewatching the show with my girlfriend (who's seeing it for the first time) and the main suits she's gone apeshit over are a) the Gerbera Tetra (pink) and b), oddly enough, Nils' custom Hyaku Shiki from episode 8. Also, when a main unit shows up she forces me to pause while she scans my display shelves for it. A shameful hobby.

Apparently Julian's grandfather showed up in the latest chapter of the BF manga, so maybe that episode won't be as pointless soon. Incidentally Julian's grandfather was pretty much the best side character.
