Fake spoilers would sound more realistic than anything from the last two books. The Mountain becomes a Frankenstein monster, Tommen gets a cat, Dany shits all over herself, Jon dies...sort of...maybe...probably not, Manderly eats Frey. Edit: Catelyn becomes a zombie. Thanks for noting it with giant red question marks. Pretty sure the red lines indicate a divergent boundary between two tectonic plates wile the black lines indicate convergent boundaries. Not sure what the black arrows mean, probably indicate the subduction direction or something. I think it's kind of ironic that Winterfell is on some pretty geologically recent terrain, what with the Stark obsession with the Old Gods.

You know the spergiest I ever really got about ASoIaF was when the latest episode came out and the entrance video had the camera pan West instead of East signifying that the show runners think the entire world is just Westeros and Essos without knowing if there's anything between their "Pacific Ocean" area. Even book readers couldn't be sure as I'm fairly certain Gurm never put out a map saying it was the entire planet. But this. Wow. This is another level. (I hope.)

The cut from the wall to Meereen is tricky and odd, but if you watch it, what it does is zoom way out, then pan down along the Kingsroad, continue past King's Landing and over the stepstones, then along the southern coast of Essos, past Valyria and into Slaver's Bay. Maps are cool.

In retrospect, no one I know will slog through the non-Peter Jackson/deadtree LotR anymore, but the attrition factor of walking from Lothlorien (or its nearest portage) to Mt Doom was deliciously brutal. I remember getting The Two Towers from the library and then begging my mom and grandma to pick up the third book on their trip to the mall because All frantic and twelve years old. I like to think that some day I'll be able to get my hands on the model they use to render that map. It's an impossible dream fraught with concrete walls of legal issues and ownership rights but it's one I'd like to think that, if I wish hard enough, could come true after the series is over. By then my home PC should easily be able to render my own versions of the opening and just be able to sit and stare at it all. poo poo, by the time the series is over that map could be used for a sweet rear end Civilization (Crusader Kings 2) game.
