I'm glad we have Friday Bobbins. After the break I realized how much more interesting the adults were compared to the kids

The creator of "hero" has promised to finish it. I know that not many people here read it or liked it but it was the best news I've gotten in a long time ![]()

I'm going to reread this because it's been a very long time since I've seen it last, and it was different from the webcomics I was reading then. I remember liking it because it was part comic and part storybook, and the art reminded me of Yoshitaka Amano's Final Fantasy concept art, with the wispy lines.

The current Dr. McNinja storyline is making me wonder why Judy became McNinja's friend at all. All he's done so far is be a jerk and disrespect her society. Still, Judy is the best character so getting a full story arc about her owns bones. Hero was that comic where the dialog was in the text you get when you hover over a page wasn't it? I thought that was an interesting idea. The creator was not a native speaker of English, right? I remember the writing being a little stiff sometimes. It's a really pleasant and fairly unique comic, and I enjoy it a lot. I'll also need to reread it, though, as I only remember vague snippets of it - something about a castle in the sky and a motorcycle that's also a duck stand out. E. Also, I really liked the Thunderpaw comic that was posted a couple pages ago. I hope it continues to update. UnbearablyBlight fucked around with this message at 08:14 on Apr 13, 2014 |

Finally getting around to House of Orr, boy you guys sure undersold that thing! It starts off weird and floaty and... kind of stays that way? That feels like part of what makes it so good though, there's no pressure, just a bunch of weirdos doing stuff. giantdate is adorable alsofloofyscorp posted:Looks like Andrew Hussie's new project is happening, then. If anyone missed the Kickstarter (like I managed to), the A Redtail's Dream book is available for preorder now. $90 base price if you're outside of Finland, which I think is the same as it was on the Kickstarter. Considering it's 608 full-color pages and rather large, the price isn't too bad. I usually go for getting books signed and/or sketched, but the price premium here is a bit much. And I don't see Minna showing up at ECCC any time soon. ![]()

|
^^^^^^^^^ I came into the thread to post that! That $90 price does include shipping and handling so it's not as horrifyingly steep as it could be, though it's still pretty expensive. Preorder's only open for about two weeks though so if anybody's considering buying it's probably better not to wait.

Oh man, that one's been making the rounds for a while. I thought it was especially clever how he chose a quote that was already pretentious, self-aggrandizing bullshit so he didn't have to strain his creativity coming up with patronizing literalist imagery.
|
![]() |
|
It's pretty much par for the course. A smug prick flipping his poo poo and ranting like a child is the pretty much the only way to contextualize a quote like that, outside of a slam poetry convention. Please pretend I used two different examples in that last sentence. The more I think about having to draw a comic around a quote, the less feasible the idea sounds. I don't think there's a right way to do Zen Pencils at all.

The latest K6BD update isn't really a comic but it is interesting. If you start reading it I recommend reading it to the end. You'll probably see what I mean. I remember years ago I found a comic and read it up to where it was and then forgot about it for several reasons. I can't remember the name, but it was about british mice and magic I think?
