no. No they do not give the same training anywhere. Is your SARC on acid constantly? Who thought that was a good idea?

Oh wow, it looks like they already got to the internet:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=blocktopus

quote:

1.

blocktopus
a good friend that protects his or her friends from getting into regrettable or dangerous sexual situations
(term comes from using all those arms, or the available means, to block the bad business)

IMPORTANT: This friend is NOT a cock block. The blocktopus only steps in if his/her friends' comfort or safety is at risk.
Example 1)

That guy at the party last night was getting really creepy with Laura, so I had to be a blocktopus and get rid of him.

Example 2)

Dude 1: "Hey, man, what ever happened with that girl from the club?"
Dude 2: "Nothing. I couldn't tell she wasn't into me, so I'm glad my blocktopus was there, otherwise things could have gotten sketch."p.

Which command are you going to? Shoot me a PM with some contact info and I will see if I can find someone at your prospective command. You just going to the base in general, as in NAF?

Have you ever been to Japan before? Do you have any dependents? Did you get 2 year with (sea) follow on of choice or 3 year orders?

I guess if you aren't sexually assaulting someone or doing unauthorized substances, you're probably a child molester. I think I counted 5 different court martials.

"an act of congress" is more of an example. A person can only be demoted by someone who could have promoted them, and since a CO can't CAP an E7, they can't bust them, either. Doesn't take much to take one to mast and then forward to higher authority. We had a CPO on USS Last get busted without trial after CO's mast and a recommendation. He retired as an E6 with his E7 high 3, though. Too bad, really, he was good people. Still is.

No. I work here. I manage operations for this and integration for this, while making sure that their stuff keeps working in here.
Technically, the UCMJ is established by an act of Congress, and it stipulates the maximum punishments awardable by differing levels of Article 15 and Court Martial authority, so in a pedantic way, the saying is correct.

Functionally though, no, there's a lot of easy ways to lose anchors.

I'm glad to see JAG's don't gently caress around when it comes to court marshaling.

Since coming to Japan I've been witness to maybe 6 mast cases onboard my ship since our new CO started making them public. Literally 5 of 6 were "Reduction in rate suspended for 6 months" cases, which are easily the worst possible decisions I've ever seen.

One of the only ways you'll see someone lose anchors that doesn't involve prison time are people that are frocked but not yet advanced to chief.

I've seen this happen, it was something about how they aren't getting paid and aren't "officially" that rank yet.

I've also seen where the rate suspension happens, but doesn't that basically mean "you gently caress up again, I'll take it away" and it's only there for the amount of time allotted to them?

Did you see the senior chief seaman recruit who got busted for disobeying an order from a superior officer, child pornography, and I think child abuse? He got 22 years in the brig. Should be in navy times, I would post links but I am on my phone ATM.

You're basically right on the suspended bust. It does open the door for your skipper to take 2 stripes at once, though. If you're currently on a suspended bust, they can institute that and bust you again at your new mast. Also, if you're only frocked to the next pay grade, it isn't actually a bust to take away the new rank since you're not actually advanced. A frocked Sailor on a suspended bust can drop three ranks in an instant.

Thats pretty cool in a hosed up way. I find it interesting that we frock people to the next grade and wait to see if they gently caress up before we give them pay.

Cant wait to see people going to DRB and XOI for smoking if they ban tobacco products. I picked up the habit with a vape which isnt quite the same thing when I was in alcohol treatment. Its hella nice.
