Yeah Earth 2 has been solid for it's entire run so far. I was kind of scared when Robinson left but Taylor has been killing it ever since. It's one of the best books DC is putting out right now.

Speaking of...

Third weekly series revealed: "Earth 2: World's End"

Running parallel to Future's End, so I'm guessing this takes place 5 years later on Earth 2. Writers include Tom Taylor, Daniel Wilson, Paul Levitz, Mike Johnson, and Marguerite Bennett.

The adult new Superman looks thoroughly badass. Even with some of the talent being mediocre, I'd much rather spend my money on this than Batman Eternal.

I wonder if that promo image means Kara and Helena are going to be returning to Earth-2 at some point during this all. Their comic together is pretty enjoyable and I'd hate to see it go.

Judging by Eternal being 2.99, I'd say full price. None of these are on the digital line up (which is pretty awesome by the way).

The interview definitely sounds like this takes place 5 years from now in the DCU, so they're probably anticipating them going back sometime regardless, but given sales of the series it would really surprise me if the title was still around in 5 years worth of continuity anyway. This is them hedging their bets for story, while still anticipating what is probably the inevitable.

Is really feasible for DC to maintain three weekly series in addition to their monthly line up? Heck, is even a good idea to have three weekly series running at the same time?

Nothing too interesting aside of GA confirmed as killed on issue 2 and a swole as gently caress Mr Terrific on issue 3

I think most people would rather they just focused on having a more diverse roster of quality books instead of hitting this magic number that means almost nothing in terms of quality.

So what's the deal with The Joker's Daughter? Is it Dullea Dent or what's going on and why the hate?

I've been behind on New 52, in that I have a bunch of trades I've been meaning to get to and just haven't had a chance and in the case of the batman books I got am really hesitant to start them. Since I read the Suicide Squad and Batgirl prelude into Death of the Family and I had to stop because it was just bad and they implied threat of rape of Batgirl really put me of. And that's been my sole impression of New 52.

Wait, what are you talking about? :psyduck:

And you choose the worst books to read during the Death of the Family crossover. SS writer back then pretty much rebelled against Snyder and did his own thing (almost looked like out of spite) he was removed shortly from the title and no one has picked up his plots. Batgirl was only DRAMA about Barbara and her Joker related traumas.

I'm not a fan of Snyder's work on Batman but everyone else claims is really freaking good.

Joker's Daughter is an anonymous crazy poser that mutilate herself and sew Joker's discarded face into her own just to feel important...or something like that, is pretty dumb.

Snyder's take on Harley derailed any arc Glass had in mind with her (he was setting up a Harley/Deadshot realtionship after all) and Glass' Joker was even more of an rear end in a top hat that Snyder's. But the thing made thought of him going against the whole crossover is the multiple Harleys thing he capped off his tie-in with.

Simone was also on a similar state since she was even replaced for an issue after the tie-ins but she managed to keep the book while Glass didn't.

Hasn't the author specifically said that he didn't? Though that wouldn't really jive with the Joker was trying to do plus DC's willingness to go down that road.

It's too bad this Doomed crossover is disrupting Pak's Action Comics, because I've really been enjoying it so far. I think he's done a good job of capturing the non-jerk personality of the pre-nu52 Superman. I think I even remember him responding to a few people on tumblr that basically said they're going to stop buying Action during Doomed, and pick it up again when it concludes.

Don't let that poo poo put you off. Batman, Batman Incorporated and Batman and Robin are really good.
Also, Death of The Family wasn't a fantastic event all up, but Zero Year (the next storyline) in Batman has been great.

I don't know where that came from. The ending is just the two of them laughing at a joke and Batman looking like he's about to choke Joker, but Killing Joke is in continuity so that didn't happen.

The artist has hinted at it, and I would trust Morrison to have put some thought into it. I like it, and if it was some Elseworlds story then it's a fitting end to both Batman and Joker.

According to DiDio, the weeklies won't all be a year long.

quote:

Batman Eternal started this April and runs to next March after which it takes a brief hiatus, Futures End starts this May and ends the last week of March 2015, and Worlds End starts in October and ends the same week as the others next March, hope that clears things up.

It's a bit odd that everything lines up to end by April. Yet another line-wide event?
