Apparently they've changed the rules now, but I figured out you could blast through the course at top speed and smack several cones while still getting a lot of points. The year I went to the state competition, I was the fastest driver by 20-25 seconds. Now accuracy counts considerably more than speed. Here's me in '08. Helmet for added style.

He had the clutch floored at 3:57 and he was pumping it hard. It looks more like a mechanical issue to me. If I had to guess I'd say bad slave cylinder, had the exact same thing happen in a 1g Eclipse. He's still a lovely driver, but the car doesn't belong on a track either.

Bumming Your Scene posted:They all end with kitties now. Also, yellows before greens are really dumb, especially when you get someone trying to beat a red. Accidentally posted this in the dash cam thread instead of this one, but really it works both places I guess... I'm fairly sure that the Red - Red/Yellow - Green sequence was put into some document as a huge joke by a traffic engineer, and management accepted it as is and then wouldn't reverse the decision when the engineer came clean about the joke. Every single video has at least one, and often multiple, crashes caused because every driver in Russia seems to think it's a pretty good idea to jump the light based on that yellow, while every driver in Russia also think's that it's a pretty good idea to blast through an intersection at full speed just as the light is turning red from green (or even within a few seconds after it turns red). Many collisions ensue as these two mindsets meet in the intersection.

Our city went one better in the CBD and installed countdown timers for pedestrians to get off the road. They stupidly didn't leave a gap from when the countdown hits zero and the traffic lights turn green.
