That case is semi-local to me so I heard about it pretty early on. That guy went way over the line when he shot and killed those two kids, but you can tell by reading the statements that he made that he was just not all mentally there when he was talking to the cops. I had a great uncle like him, a little dumb and a bit autistic living on disability from injuries that he got while working as a lumberjack. I could see my great uncle shooting a couple of kids who broke into his house and then confessing the whole thing to the county sheriff because he thought that the sheriff was his friend and there to help him out. I guess I pity him, and it makes me sick and sad that a couple of kids were killed because they wanted to sneak in and steal a bottle of Vicodin.
