Are there any famous people that listen to UYD? It's kind of cool to think that some celebs out there maybe look to Seth as a celeb, I think he'd be able to die happy.

There are a few big name action sport / Olympic athletes that listen to UYD religiously and when I told Seth he said he'd get his "wikipedia tech guys" on it.

Vernon Reid (guitarist for Living Colour) wore a UYD shirt on an episode of Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell.

Man, 416 was a weak ep. The show starts to lose my attention whenever Jonathan goes off on rambling tangents, and this devolved into that hardcore. Like, sure dude, I totally get you about big companies and cellphones and whatever else, but hearing you go off is dead not funny.

By contrast, Jah said tons of stupid poo poo in 415 and it ruled.

J's stupid 10 minute episode derailing monologues are hit or miss. Usually they miss when he can't even get a single coherant point across to the point that Seth doesn't even know what the hell he's talking about so he can't even chime in and help save it a bit.

If I worked there I'd have freaked out long ago and smeared toner all over my naked body, flopping around to spell out "I TOLD YOU SO!" on the carpet until campus security could drag me away.
:xbone:
Best line from #44 is Johnathan describing the ritual process of killing a tick he found on his body in a show of defiance to the tick empire:

Paraphrasing,

Seth: What do you do? You eat it right? You boil it like a lobster.
Jah: I've got my tick bib on.

Maybe you had to be there, but its the heart of the show right for me. To instantly adopt what the other one just said in the same breath. Seth coins a phrase and before the next beat Jah uses it in the sentence he was already halfway to finishing.

I also enjoyed in #43, the story of the Guatemalan day-laborer pornographic magazine library in the hills behind the house Johnathan grew up in. As well as the story of "STACEY AND SUSAN!", which is another thing to shout into their voicemail when I (never) work up the gumption.

To be fair, the dude has maybe been divorced and moved out of his house like twice over the course of the show I think. Been arrested in North Carolina, suffers from bill collectors hounding him all the time, etc. Dude can sometimes get a pass.

For a stretch he was actually living with Seth.

Yeah I don't hold it against him or anything. The episodes just noticeably fall apart when he's dragging. Which it strange, because it is temping to think of Seth as "the funny one", but he show really does suck without Jonathan playing along.

I'm sure Seth has his bad days/weeks/months as well, but he seems much more adapt at just putting on his game face and meticulously researching, prepping, and executing an excellent episode.

I think UYD is itself really therapeutic for Seth, so that's part of why he still does his meticulous research even if his personal life may be having some issues.

I though Jonathan was having a bad episode too. He really is the perfect comic foil to Seth's whole Screamin' Vegan thing.

I had no idea he ever lived with Seth, that's pretty bananas considering the way Roma seems with his personal space. What do you guys think the big announcement is? Probably a San Francisco gig?
