I got one of these as a gift, and it's been nothing but a joy to use. Granted, I've only used it in situations where a regular ladder would suffice, and for a total of maybe twenty minutes.

I've used those ladders for years at work and never had an issue. They are heavy, and the latches can be annoying but I've never felt that the thing was going to fail.

When it gets stored on the roof of a truck, it gets really weathered and really hard to expand and the latches practically need a mallet to be adjusted. It goes from really tiny to really huge, though, so it's definitely the most conflicted a tool has ever made me feel.
