Don't get me wrong, taking that one down was absolutely the right move. They're just awful selective/lazy about when they choose to do the right thing. Actually no, it's actually really clear when they'll make that call - when the project isn't going to collect a million dollars and make IGG a healthy kickback.

Another one from local Kickstarters. Give me $1,200 for a killer app that grabs a listing of restaurants and picks one at random for you!RandomRestaurant posted:RandomRestaurant is going to pick a place for you to eat when you can't. It finds your location and selects a 10 mile radius. It gets a list of all of the eating establishments from APIs such as Google Places and Yelp. Gets a random number from Random.org and selects one of the places based on that random number and displays that selection to the user. It's already working; he needs the money to add more APIs and make it look nicer. The rewards include personalized emails, a signed "pro photo" of a random restaurant in his city, and branded can koozies and t-shirts. If you're a restaurant owner, you have a special tier. Pledge $200 or more posted:For local restaurateurs! Backer gets a personalized thank you email with an attached pro photo of a random signature local Pensacola restaurant and a set of 4 Random Restaurant koozies and 2 Random Restaurant t-shirts and name in the financial backer section of the website. Also your restaurant standing out in the results for when people in your area use it and a "We're On RandomRestaurant" door cling stickers and stand up cardboard info board. The app itself is planned to be free, but ad-supported, with a $1 version that's ad-free. The rewards don't mention getting the ad-free version as a reward.

I'm pretty sure the urbanspoon app has had this functionality for several years. You can choose a type of cuisine, price range, and / or location and it will pick a suitable restaurant for you so I have no idea why this guy thinks the world needs his app so badly. Also, I remember reading about some 'how to make apps' short course and the end project was making a 'choose a random restaurant' app in less than 3 days to show how you can bash together a simple app very quickly so not only is it not innovative but it's also a repackaged 'apps for dummies' project.

The infamous cult Action RPG by one person- The last great 16-bit game! A mix of "Zelda," "Pokemon," "Harvest Moon," and "Earthbound." //------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ What is "bob's game?" //------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "bob's game" is a Multiplayer Adventure RPG for PC, Mac, Linux, and Android (Phones, Tablets, OUYA, nVidia Shield, Kindle TV, and more!) "bob's game" is a forerunner and founder of the indie games movement, originally announced in 2008 for the Nintendo DS, campaigning against the treatment of developers by the big console companies, and overshadowed by the incredible success of Minecraft and games like Angry Birds on the iPhone App Store. As far as I can tell, "bob's game" may still be one of the largest games (if not the largest) by one person! Just as I stated then, I intend it to be the last great "16-bit" game- perhaps the greatest of all! "bob's game" is a game about a puzzle game called 'bob's game,' developed within the game by the virtual "bob" character, the "final boss" of the game. It is a hybrid between Zelda, Pokemon, Harvest Moon, and Earthbound, with massively multiplayer elements. The 'bob's game' puzzle game inside the "bob's game" RPG is a puzzle game in which you can build your own puzzle games, including all existing types! It is the greatest puzzle game ever made, and the only puzzle game objectively better than Tetris. "bob's game," however, is far more than just a game. It is a living work of art, a decade-long art project that spans websites, consoles, videos, music, books, alternate realities, and real-life events. It is a product of the heart. It is a lifelong aspiration and a true tour de force masterpiece. (The work an apprentice makes to become a master.) It is a game within a game about the development of itself in realtime, paralleled with a real life tournament to coincide with the virtual. "bob's game" blends the line between reality and simulation, and reality and extra-dimensional reality. "bob's game" breaks both the so-called "4th wall" and further yet- the "5th wall," unlocking the secrets of "the Matrix," or "the Womb" as it is referred to in some editions of the Bible. "bob's game" reveals the nature of the universe for what it really is to a generation that needs it the most. "bob's game" is the most important thing to happen to mankind in hundreds, if not thousands of years. "bob's game" is the vehicle for a prophecy, written by a "self taught" "genius" "prophet." It carries within it a message that will revolutionize society and change the world. It is the beginning of a new era for mankind. "bob's game" actually alters reality itself for those who play it. It is a key into another dimension. It teaches the secrets of the heart, the secrets of mind control and psychic power to a generation that has has the wool pulled over their eyes by criminal syndicates. "bob's game" is the ultimate cult game. It is a new religion for the modern world, inspired by and intended as a natural spiritual successor to previous disguised religion games such as Earthbound and Zelda and movie retellings of ancient spellbooks such as "The Matrix."

I started listening to angrier music, Eminem and ICP. The criminals had gotten in, and were quickly making me into one of them, stealing away any morals I had left and making me into a psychopath. I made an awful blog called "ih8.net" and tried to get my brother's friends involved, but with nothing interesting to say I just posted pictures of Asian porno on it. My Mom got angry and took away my laptop and kicked me in an angry fit. I was incredibly manipulative and used it as emotional leverage- I had every right to be furious- why, she had ruined my business! It was abuse! I had to stand up for myself! I used the credit card to buy a jelly vagina masturbator.

Or the PUA handbook, which they had nearly 24 hours to deal with from the time the news spread to when it ended. Considering kickstarter's operators know how social media and modern technology work they just sat on that one but then had to backtrack after the fact because, oh hey a date rape manual just got funded by our site.
