Bran at Craster's is kind of shite and obviously just a ploy for time to delay the tree plot, but the white walker scene was pretty sweet. Felt like it could have been a good prologue chapter to the hypothetical book six.

Lord Twisted posted:- Obvious Jon won't kill Ygritte, it'll be Random Orphan Boy Whose Dad Ygritte Killed - he's a "great archer" and they did a ton of lingering shots of him getting a good look at her. To be fair, the whole Jon/Ygritte romance in the books is pretty terrible. Generally, most of Jon chapters in the first three books are terrible, because he's not doing anything on his own. Every meaningful decision he makes is because someone else manipulates the plot and makes all paths but one impossible. The most egregious example is his time spent with the Wildlings - he only joins them because of Qohorin and leaves just after they want him to kill an innocent man and jump at him for trying to argue with them. His time with Ygritte is similar - I can't think of a scene that could convince me he even wanted to be with her. She's sleeping with her because she clearly wants it and other characters and events have made refusing too complicated to bother. Later, she dies off-screen and Jon is sad for killing her for maybe several sentences. He's much more torn about the dead giant, though. TV Ygritte's plot would have every chance to be better, if it didn't involve Tolkien Uruk-hai that apparently wandered too far from Isengard and mistook a northern village for Shire.

I was honestly getting annoyed that they were teasing Ser Pounce without having actually done any cat wrangling, but thankfully he appeared like The Pounce That Was Promised. Also, that ending was p cheesetacular, but mostly because I thought the Others were an offshoot of the Children for some reason. Now it's clear that it was just some Ice goddess mad because reasons, against some Fire god because reasons, and you see the Throne they're competing for is Westeros because... -> ?? -> profit.

E: Even more amusing is that HBO calls the shots and not Bantam or Grm himself, can't decide if that's funny or just sad.

I blame the last episode of the show for briefly giving me the flicker of a hope that Sansa might rise above her eternal lameness and become awesome and vicious at the game. I've felt that hope before when she was Alayne. Goddamn you, HBO, stop making me want to see the Stark girls come back as crazed typhoons of revenge. With the way the story is flying by, I'm wondering if Arya will ever make it to Braavos or if they'll skip that altogether in favor of the Hound bringing her to her sister in the Eyerie. Man, I can't wait for the "Only Cat" scene. They better not gently caress that up. empty sea fucked around with this message at 04:05 on Apr 30, 2014 |

Arya going to the Eyrie instead of Braavos sounds way too lame, so I don't think that's happening. Particularly since she has the coin in the show.

Nah, he definitely has some serious "is this love" and "which is more important" moments. The one that pops into mind is when they gently caress in the cave right before climbing the wall.

Well I finally got aroudn to watching Jamie rape Cersie (been moving), and I have to say, I expected worse, given the outrage all over the internet. My wife agreed that it was pretty tame. Her: "Wasn't that bad, even if it was done more tastefully in the book." Me: "Well, as tastefully as a crippled child-murderer can gently caress his sister in a church on top of their murdered son."
