The new Epica album finally leaked, a whole two days before its official EU release. It's really drat good, probably a contender for my album of the year. Those of you who don't like Epica's shtick may at least appreciate Victim of Contingency (lol yes their song titles are still horrible) or The Second Stone or The Essence of Silence. (Why do metal bands think they benefit from lyric videos? They don't.) edit: Okay the more I listen to it the more I can't shut up about it. You guys already pointed out a lot of the good classic poo poo so here's a couple newer death bands you may be into, not sure if you'd classify them as tech or not but whatever The Kennedy Veil Hideous Divinity I also just found Demonic Resurrection and I'm liking it, should've posted it yesterday for melo monday also gonna post this and this cause Townsend Tuesday transcends all genres

In an anti-tech post: The new Autopsy album is actually pretty good. The title track and a few of the other songs rule. Also, new Dead Congregation drops next week now, (for the EU anyway, regional releases are stupid). We've really been spoiled for death metal this year. Does the new Bolzer EP have a release date yet?

Went to see Mastodon tonight, and I'm so glad I got there in time to see Gojira. Hadn't really listened to them aside from a couple songs here and there, but they blew me the gently caress away. Absolutely incredible.
