That part of the game requires a different approach but that doesn't make it bad or unfair. Bad is Tseldora since half the mages are positioned so that you can't easily reach them and they literally never stop flooding your screen with projectiles that, while easy to dodge, are so numerous that you'll just be worn down over time. This still isn't as bad as loving Blighttown where the rear end in a top hat snipers are accurate, far away, blend in with the environment, and afflict you with a deadly status ailment you probably won't be equipped to handle your first time through.
FWIW, this is basically my experience with Shrine of Amana, which is why I didn't like it. Lots of overlapping casters, some of which you can barely see they're so far away, chaincasting tracking projectiles that hit me for 1/3 of my health if I fail a dodge (or don't see one coming).

NG+ is merciless. The red phantoms in Heide...omg such a pain. Thankfully they don't respawn.
One thing I noticed is that I am being forced to wear heavy armor (and invest in the stats to wear it) as a single scratch from those phantoms would pretty much one shot me in caster clothing.

If you want some PvP as a blue sentinel at the moment, hang out in Heide's. There seems to be a lot of red phantoms invading there for some reason. Maybe to kill Sentinels farming for cracked orbs?

I don't think you get covenant progression by killing invaders in your own world, though. Which is a shame.

If I'm soul memory 1.8 mil how likely is it I'll be summoned to that fight? I'd base it on bell invasion likelihood but that's been stagnant for a while except a bit here and there, like this afternoon.

Well I know the Blue Sentinel ring doesn't actually care what area you are in relative to where you're summoned. Other than that ya got me.

You don't get "new uses" for souls in NG+, but new souls drop from four bosses. So yeah you didn't miss anything if none of the NG options appealed to you.

Dark Chime of Want requires more stats and casts a bit slower but has a higher damage bonus to Dark. It also requires the soul of the final boss.

Dark Sunset Staff is the best hex staff, Magic Staff of Wisdom is the best for sorceries, but you won't be able to get it until the Dragon Shrine.

I think you're more likely to get summoned into the area you're in, but you should be able to be summoned anywhere. I've used blue orbs in Heide and ended up in Drangleic Castle.
Also, I've had invaders in Heide well into the 2mil SM range. As mentioned, it's the best area to farm cracked blue eye orbs in, so some red phantoms probably try to take advantage of that.

Edit: I want to do some more Sentinel patrolling, but Being a Bellbro is too much fun, and you actually get fights regularly there...

They do different things. Magic adds magic damage that scales off Int but reduces the physical damage scaling. Enchanted makes physical damage scale off Int at the cost of reduced scaling off Str/Dex.

So for anybody running Dragon Remnants covenant, I want that dragon armor. Is it even worth it to join up and throw down an eye and try to get summoned to get scales? Or should I just summon and kill dragonbros myself until I have enough scales and then join to get the head/torso stones? I'm just curious how often you actually get summoned to duel.

Either way works well enough. Just go to the Iron Keep entrance bridge. That's a hotspot for summon signs of all sorts.

There's Dragon signs absolutely everywhere in Iron Keep and Heide, knock yourself out. No downsides to doing it either way.

I think there is just a higher chance of being summon on the same area where you are but i just sit at the second bonfire Earthen Peak waiting for the ring to kick in.
And that is also you must know, the ring still works while you use the bonfire, that way you just wait to get summon without being invaded, and to know if you are in a good area your covenant symbol will flash indicating you can get summoned from there.
Also talking about blue sentinels what is the best soul level to rock with them ?

Soul level doesn't matter for anything anymore, it's soul memory. Keep it as low as possible for as long as you can, things became dead in the water for me around 1 million. I hope it picks back up at 2 million.

But anyways I decided to start a new guy and roll with spears this round. And what the hell is wrong with spear durability? Do thrusting attacks just lose durability quicker when hitting armored dudes? I know they may take an extra attack or two to clean up a kill.
