With Tre hurt I'd say near impossible

Mettenberger is like the antithesis of what they're trying to do at QB so that's a strange choice.

I also ran one 2 round mock and ended up with Clowney, Dennard and Mosely so yay for defense.

Yeah I wasn't thrilled with that but he was the best available I thought. And I think irl they want to take one in those middle rounds so I thought it was more realistic than not taking one at all

There it is, Teddy B +140 to get drafted before Derek Carr, Carr -185 to get drafted before Teddy

(For those who don't know what that means, it means a bet of $100 on Teddy to get drafted first can win you $140, and a bet of $185 on Carr to get drafted first can win you $100)

e: also looks like RB in the first is 7.5:1, not 10:1, unless the line shifted since you posted

Or maybe I don't understand how it works because it says 8.5 when I shift to decimal. I guess it counts your original $100 as part of the winnings so you're winning $850?

I think Teddy would do well in Reid's system. Plus, a cost controlled QB leaves a lot of money for other signings. It would really suck to essentially have our 1st and 2nd round picks be QBs, but that's part of the long term game.
The Chiefs would of worked out more QB's than just Aaron Murray if they were serious about targeting one. He's trying to bait a team to trade with them.

Just because we get excited about fourth quarter comebacks does not me we are inclined to believe the players were able to accomplish this because they were somehow more genetically inclined to perform better in the clutch.

I'm surprised that with the extra weeks this year that Houston still hasn't made at least a verbal agreement with their pick, I mean I know they're trying to trade down but they could just as easily make their pick and still do that.

In their defense it's all just a player similarity algorithm based on measureables and a 6'6 250 lb guy who runs a 4.6 40 is basically the guy that Rob Gronkowski was (just, you know, played TE fulltime or whatever)

Yeah that's what I want, a spread QB that hasn't played in a pro system and buckles under pressure, is inaccurate in the clutch and is related to someone who was the same with expected results. Yeah that's better than Smith who had a career year and looks like he's bound to improve on it.

How exactly is be "bound to improve" on it when Charles is another year older and he just lost 3/5s of his offensive line and playing a much more difficult schedule?

I liked his story about why he pronounces his name different than his cousin who is also in the NFL. IIRC it was basically his mom saying we don't like that half of the family and we pronounce our last name differently. I heard it on one of these terrible football podcasts in the last week, so correct me if I am wrong.

The first half of the year was nothing but dump passes. The offense got opened up towards the end of the year and Alex looked much better at getting the ball down the field. The line is a little disconcerting but not much because I'm really not sure the guys replacing the guys that left aren't just as good and that's because the guys that left weren't that good.

The schedule is going to be harder but I'm pretty sure Smith doesn't play his best football his first year with a new team.

I seem to be getting the feeling that the reason why a bunch of teams are generating rumors about trading up to get JFF is that they want another to scramble and get him off the board early because they actually think he'll bust hard. I mean I'm probably overthinking it, but I keep thinking that's the only reason rumors are popping up and then fading just as quickly.
