Fixed butt-turret would make a lot more sense on a ship that can't turn for poo poo. But on the class of ship that has the easiest time of all of keeping their front on the enemy?

So I just got a K'tinga for my Commander levels because loving NOSTALGIA and I am not sure how to outfit it. It take cannons, but it seems like it should be a beam cruiser maybe, but it doesn't have the hull so I dunno. Tips? I'm not sure it turns fast enough to play it like a BoP.

Yeah, I'd just throw beams on it at that level. You can maybe make cannons work on some klank battlecruisers, but not until endgame when you can boost turn rate a lot, and the K'tinga doesn't really have the tac boff slots for it anyway.

Gonna be working on kitting out my new Avenger for a while, with that in mind, what is the best route to acquire decent quality Antiproton Beam Arrays? Going to need a lot of them, so I'd rather not be reduced to gambling on rep rewards or something.

If you're short on dil/fleet credits you can also run the Borg episode Fluid Dynamics for a decent AP beam array. You can also just buy one of these for about 400k on the exchange if you've got EC to spend. These beams are also account bound so if you have an account bank you can send them to future alts once you upgrade them to fleet AP.

Edit: For those still on the fence about this game, it has improved a lot since a few years ago. Cryptic is still hilariously bad. The game can be broken in interesting ways. Also after playing for a while, I have noticed each time, both now and in the past, that SFD/NoP/Shutup Wesley were pretty helpful, both to pubbies and goons, yet are the 'villains'. I wouldn't bother selling them though since you'll be farming for a while for those marks and you have to pump dil into it. Also the grenade sucks balls.

What do you mean? I'm running MACO shields, Borg 3pc (console, engines and deflector) and a bunch of other poo poo that I can't recall right now. Haven't noticed any power issues right now, but I'm still running the Borg cutting beam (yes I know, bad) and one of the turrets out of my previous tac escort refit due to lack of beam arrays. What would I want to have to avoid said power issues with 8 beam arrays?

I run it on my escort since I've got AP cannons and turrets. It does more damage than a turret after all and benefits from the AP +damage modules. I also have the Kinetic Cutting Beam.

It turns like rear end and has a shitload of inertia but it's damage output is pretty great. Worth picking up if you like space whales.
