I'm curious about A Tale of Two Wastelands but I suspect FO3's balance would be so thrown off it wouldn't be fun. Is that the case?

Modding fallout 3 is far more unstable than TTW, for what that is worth.

It's kind of out of whack but not as bad as you'd imagine. There's an optional plugin to make Supermutants weaker than they are in base TTW which makes them pretty manageable while remaining more dangerous than the ones in vanilla FO3, but the only real big problem right now (assuming a new version didn't already come out and fixed it?) is that the Enclave troopers have a shitton of DT thanks to their advance power armors. Yeah I didn't have trouble with most of TTW but the final mission took me like 50 tries because i would either get killed by one of the enclave because of their overpowered weapons and armor or the liberty prime would gently caress up and start walking into the ocean for no reason.

Yeah, Liberty Prime really likes messing up in the ending. Make multiple saves. I mean A LOT. It probably took me an hour or so of reloading and praying before the ending worked well. Beyond that, TTW was loving solid all the way through. With FNV's engine and stabilizing mods, I had a total of 3 crashes in ~50 hours of play across both games.

Sup broskis. Released a WA 2000 just a couple minutes ago, if you like that sort of thing. I saw it and just had to do it up since I'm such a big fan of Hitman.

Do any of these newer and/or updated player homes with Sortomatic have a functionality to set up a kit bag (ammo, medicine, food, etc.) from your supplies? I have long been a proponent of the Survivalist Bunker because of the scale, aesthetics, features, and balance, but it's getting really dated now and the auto-kit-bag-packer doesn't know about the crazy/awesome GRA ammos or new kinds of food and medicine. I'm a bit of a sperg who likes to divide my playtime up into missions I set for myself and go back to base to re-group in between, but spending too much time futzing with my inventory makes me not wanna play games.

After playing around with Sortomatic for a while it seems like it can do all of the things I want and more. It's really fantastic. But am I missing something or is there no way to have it take everything from my inventory all at once? Seems like I have to manually unload everything into some temporary container when I hit "Process Inventory", which is really a huge hassle and something that lots of lesser sorting mods have been doing for ages.

# ? May 12, 2014 02:49 |

Then again, inventory sorting is one of the defining features of any Gamebryo game.

I ended up figuring gout how to make Sortomatic take my stuff: IQM defaults to not taking anything from you, have to change all those settings to make it take stuff. It's working perfectly now.

Got a question for you gents, my game is constantly crashing because my video driver crashes. This doesn't happen with vanilla FNV do you have any idea what might be causing it?

I've been jonesin to play Fallout 3 again and noticed that the new versions of TTW seem a lot better than last time I looked at it but I have a couple of questions for the people here that use it. First off I see that Project Nevada has a patch for it but do CCO + JSawyer work as well? Those are really my must haves, along with DarnUI, when it comes to playing New Vegas. Second what are some recommended mods to use with TTW? I remember last time I tried I just got frustrated with the amount of DT supermutants had and it just felt like a big slog but I remember there being a fix for that.

CCO and Jsawyer have patches, yeah, though separate. The Jsawyer patch actually isn't that great and actually makes change I don't think it should, but I don't think there's any big conflict with TTW in the first place.

My TTW game isn't working - I'm getting that bug where FNV just hangs at the title screen with no menu. Unenabling TTW and Fallout 3 ESMs / TTW esps clears it up. Here's my load order, does anyone see an obvious conflict that might be causing the issue?quote:FalloutNV.esm

On the topic of Darnified UI, is there any other UI mod (ideally one that's still being maintained) that replaces/resizes the fonts like Darnified does?

You don't appear to have the Fallout 3 DLC in your list. TTW needs them to run.

Oh, those are on the list. I was disabling esms up the list to try and narrow it down. The problem persists when they're loaded.

In my experience TTW takes a good while to load and the game will appear to hang on the title card without a menu until it does, though that may just be my middling computer.

Anyone have an idea of how to fix the bug in New Vegas Bounties I where the Randall & Associates shack warps every single item into the center of the room (along with you and your companions) when you enter it? Right now it seems like my game is just hosed, every save I have this happens when I enter the room.

Just wanted to say that I installed TTW last night and everything is working great (so far at least). Pretty much didn't have to do anything besides activate the esm/esps, drag a few missing meshes over (included with the installer) and throw the ttw fixes esps at the end of my load order and go. The new Vegas weapons really spice up the capital wasteland and its just as rock solid as my nv install was. If anyone reading this has tried ttw in the past and didn't like it I'd say give it a shot now. The install process is 100 times better and completely painless.

What's a good multi-companion mod? I want to fill my underground hideout with relaxing companions that ignore the chainsaw wielding lobotomites roaming around.

The previous version of TTW worked perfectly for me, but when I upgraded to the newest version I ran into the exact same problem as you. I did everything right afaik and ended up uninstalling and reinstalling both games and TTW like five times. I eventually came to the conclusion that my laptop just couldn't run the newest version for some reason. I gave up and wished I'd never upgraded.

In general, a lack of main menu coming up is due to a bad form ID in a plugin. With TTW, it's likely a compatibility patch referencing a weapon that existed in older versions of TTW but was removed due to it being a duplicate of something that existed somewhere in FalloutNV.esm and its DLC files. FNVEdit's check for errors function is the best way of figuring out what is the issue.

Russell is a good companion mod. I haven't completed his quest yet but he is a believable NV character with decent VA. Also the Mobile Truck (Van) Base mod is the best housing mod I've ever used. With it I basically don't fast travel anymore and I never dread going back to base to regroup, nor do I dread the long trek back from base to whatever I'm doing.

I don't really recommend using a companion mod at all. The base game comes with a lot of companions and adding more really doesn't make the game any better. There's a lack of evil companions, but then i've never seen a good evil companion mod either. Maybe after you've exhausted all the vanilla companions and can't stand to reuse them or play alone, but most of the companion mods are rather amateurish and even the best made ones like Willow are just a shitton of mediocre content with anime undertones.

The Ulysses companion mod is pretty cool. He's a vanilla dude whose story isn't over when the DLC ends, it makes sense to take him with you. Also he had so many things to say. I also like the Marcus companion mod, for Fallout 2 reasons.

Armory 3.0 news: May not be named Armory 3.0 (RIP Armory), and might be lowered to about 70-100 weapons, necessitating a WHOLE NEW SET OF LEVELED LISTS (at least 72 work-hours of spreadsheet excitement!!!) to prevent FNVEdit bugs. Also, prepare for wildly inappropriate calibers for guns that would otherwise be incredibly redundant because some of the shitgrade guns will no longer exist but I absolutely must have powder gangers waving rapid fire .22s around.

It's pretty unfair to say all companions are bad because Willow. There might be a bunch of creepy Willow-esque companion mods on the Nexus but there are definitely serious ones that match the tone and aesthetics of the game. I tend to only use the companions while I'm doing their personal quest, as though the whole quest arc were a big escort mission, so for me additional companions with quests are just more quests to do (and I've done each of the vanilla companion quests a million times, so it doesn't help that there are 6 companions in vanilla).

Willow is a good example of feature creep in modding. A lot of the stuff Willow does now including the stripping thing was not initially a part of the mod.
