They're called Squakers because they use radio comms ro transfer orders between squad members. This is opposed to the hi-frequency psychic comms used by FIA and the squakers' employer. Seraphic Neoman fucked around with this message at 22:56 on May 15, 2014 |

This way, their employer doesn't need to worry about feeding them.

Yeah, this game is kind of funny this way. I get the feeling that they were planning to have a longer campaign with a lot of world building, but they had to shove it out the door ASAP for some reason. Which is why its backstory is actually really interesting, but the main game's story is painfully bad.

What, you want to be in the group of people who don't have their own genetically modified, weaponised animal? This is clearly a situation where MAD is the only defence.

pkfan2004 posted:The programming for the Squawkers is pretty simplistic. I think if you get into melee range they try to run away and get to a safe distance behind cover before returning fire. It sounds good on paper but they never really factored in what happens if the player also moves (the enemy keeps trying to run away forever) This is why in most games when you rush at an enemy they will just stand there and unload on you, which sounds stupid on paper but actually works.

I had a joke about the acting in this game, but in retrospect it's actually kind of depressing. I just can't say something funny about the voices without comparing it to something sad and pathetic.

Wow. This game actually looks fun when you guys do it. That's goddamn impressive. I get that the whole "no upgrades" thing is the current running joke, but at least check into that to see if there's not something really cool you unlock. Who knows, maybe the A1 we need for this uncooked minute rice can be purchased in the options menu? Then we just toss it in the microwave, maybe mix in some chicken, an egg or two, some mixed veggies... I forget where I was going with all this, but now I'm really hungry. I think I've mindjacked.

It's easy to rag on a lot of third-person cover shooters for being too brown, but after 3 episodes of blue blue blue blue I think I kind of prefer brown. The scenery is astoundingly bland.

I think you guys do best in games with non-character main characters as you can then imprint your inherent zaniness into them. First you had Jake from Ride to Hell, then Dark Dork (I don't remember this guy's name despite just watching this LP,) and now Not-Tom-Cruise. I also like watching this game because it has spacemen and doombas, and how can you hate something that has both those things?

You unlock what basically amount to "perks" ie: better accuracy, health regen. We figured out how to access it after the video ended, but it wasn't exactly riveting so I cut it. Also, something else but I have to see if it's worth showing in a video.

If there is one thing you should have learned from the whole "full uncut streams" demand that you caved in on, it's that the loyal tasters want to see every single moment of your recording sessions, no matter how mundane and inconsequential.

Yeah, I had a feeling it would be like that. It's a shame there isn't an unlockable football tackle or something. I don't think better aim or regenerating health helps much against the guys constantly running in circles.

Also you only need to keep one player alive to shout the mcs back to life. Maybe it gets harder though, who knows?

PrinceRandom posted:Maybe it gets harder though, who knows? It does. You want to use the Art that lets you take less damage especially for the last few levels. You know how bullet spongy those doombas are? There are enemies that are much, much worse. Mindjack is not a good game. There's one bit where IIRC the trigger for events can break and enemies just keep spawning endlessly!

Then Dead Island for full price and returning it to a Gamestop for $25 dollars of store credit before they patched that mission where you have to escort the shaman because the game was unwinnable solo and when you're using college wifi you can't download poo poo or play co-op. And then the new Thief game for full price through Steam but JOKE'S ON YOU I GOT A WHOLE MESS OF TF2 STUFF. The point is that yeah people do but I doubt I regret any of those purchases nearly as much as anyone would regret buying MindJack.

I was one of the idiots who bought this game at full price. Yeaaah. Fortunately I was able to get it returned, but, uh…man. I wasn't able to finish it. I'm assuming that the theory of why nobody's talking about mind controlling your enemies in this game is because we are, in fact, not playing as Jim or Rebecca but a hidden force doing all the actual mindjacking, but if so it's kind of, uh…not presented well?
