Is there any reason to choose one option or the other for "Kill the fixers or escape"?

Yeah but the concept of "Game runs fine for me so gently caress everyone else" is really unhelpful. Lots of people with legitimate copies are reporting serious performance issues. Yes it is more pronounced with AMD but it is happening across the board, affecting nvidia users as well.

Lots of people don't even understand what graphics options mean and have their computers badly configured, video drivers out of date, etc. PC gaming kinda requires some troubleshooting and problem solving inherently. Sab669 posted:So for those who have been able to play, what's the consensus? I've been holding off on grabbing it for PC as I was afraid of the massive hype train. I suppose it might still be too early to get any concrete reviews? I literally didn't even know this game was getting a PC release until last week (I had thought it was PS4 exclusive based on the Reddit posts that had cropped up about it) so I wasn't invested in any of the E3 graphics hype or release delay or anything. Maybe that's why I think the game is good.

Lots of people don't even understand what graphics options mean and have their computers badly configured, video drivers out of date, etc. This is true and we should clarify for people interested in purchasing: The game's performance is wildly in variance right now. Users with great systems and reasonable settings are experiencing crazy stuttering/performance loss. Users with relatively weak systems are reporting consistent high fps and no performance issues. AMD has states that optimization is impossible for this game because of nvidia's proprietary software being used in the game. Nvidia users however are not immune to the performance issues. That being said once these issues are sorted it is likely that nividia cars will perform better than their AMD counterparts thanks to the optimization they are taking advantage of.

If I buy this on steam I still have to install and run uPlay, right? Looks like an awesome game, I'd get a kick out of playing it. E: Nevermind, it says right on steam that it uses uplay as required drm. DocImpossible fucked around with this message at 21:52 on May 27, 2014 |

Well, so far I haven't had a horrible experience with the game. The game seems like a modern day assassin's creed with hacking and that's pretty fun in my book. I do have two issues that are kind of annoying. 1. The speech dialog is really super low. I've got the sound maxed and I can barely hear it until I turn my speakers high up, but then of course everything else is blaring through the speaking too loud. 2. The game runs fairly decent until I get in a car and then it stutters and lags out every couple of seconds, causing me to crash into huge hordes of pedestrians and ruining cars. this may be due to me having an older computer(i7 930cpu, gtx 580 video card, 6gb ram). I've turned graphics down to low, but no real change when driving. Other than that, fairly decent game so far.

This game is great because hacking someones grenade and watching him freak out and toss it to his buddy is great. ^^ I've been watching for any references to Abstergo existing within WD, but nothing as yet. The weird proliferation of evil cybertech would fit the AC universes ultra tech level though. Playing through this game, it really is very shadowrun sometimes. It works for me (I also lowered some key details, like dof and changed the antialias mode (no idea why I need a antialias mode in 1080p, but this game seems to need it). Also is a good idea to edit GamerProfile.xml and change smoothness to 0, to disable mouse acceleration.
