It would be like seeing a German politician deny the holocaust ever happened (but they wouldn't because it's loving illegal to deny the holocaust happened in a number of European countries including Germany).

It seems particularly weird to me because I've seen some anime in my day, and idealized suburban Japan doesn't look significantly better than idealized suburban America. I mean the advantages of moving there for the average weaboo would be watching anime the day it airs and the fact that the food is apparently pretty good. You really wanna go to place where you don't speak the language, the population density is really high, you're always going to stick out and have an even harder time fitting in, and stuff is more expensive. You really want to face all those hassles just for anime and food?

How would tropers even react to meeting a real live Japanese person anyway? I've had a few weaboos in real life act really loving weird once they realized I was  GLOROIUS NIHONJIN instead of Korean or Chinese, but tropers worship Japan to such an extreme that I feel really sorry for anyone even vaguely Asian they go to school with.(Tropers are mostly still in high school, right? The thought of these broken people being adults is really sad)

On one end you have the Japanese-American kids and International students that want to do cultural stuff(including pop culture) they watch anime and samurai flicks as guilty pleasures or whatever. On the other end you have the weeaboos that show up to club fairs in cosplay and are usually in the Student Union hijacking monitors for Smash Bros tournaments. They are universally white and there's at least 40 percent fedora in this group. The two crowds don't really associate with each other outside of meetings. The Japanese-Americans/International Students have a habit of calling out the weeaboos for being stereotyping assholes and get really skeeved out when they watch something like Ip Man and hear nothing but " Well this looks bad but if you think about what was really happening then...
