It's fully up-to-date, too. The Crimean Peninsula is part of Russia. (kind of weird for me to see. I haven't experienced many changing borders in my adulthood yet.) It's labeled Putinistan.

Vietnam is full of them for example, they're just the names of cities. On the other hand, I appreciate that they were able to fill Siberia and northern Canada with things but drew a blank on Slovakia and Slovenia.

I would be kind of funny to see how stereotypes change based on the country that does the stereotyping (the map is pretty clearly from an American point of view). Finnish stereotype of Norwegians to go with your example is very different (attractive cosmopolitan oil trust fund babies). DarkCrawler fucked around with this message at 09:38 on May 29, 2014 |

I thought the map was pretty clearly made by an American, but I checked the creator's deviantart profile and it turns out he's Slovak. A map made by an American would definitely work in something about France surrendering since that's one of the biggest stereotypes about the French here. "Americans, By Geographic Region, Who Said 'Most People Can Be Trusted,' 1972–2012" This is something I put together for an analysis of trust among Americans. I ran cross-tabulations of the GSS variable trust by year and selected for different regions of the U.S. The regions represent values set in the GSS variable region, which were based on definitions from the U.S. Census Bureau's Statistical Abstracts. Most of them don't make sense to me, either. Still, I thought the results were interesting enough to share. EDIT: The Washington Post featured my research. Pretty cool. mancub fucked around with this message at 16:46 on Jun 2, 2014 |

If the government has ever shut down a torrent website, which is objectively provable as happening at least 1 time more often than "literally never", that means the government is censoring the internet. The fact that torrents are still available elsewhere doesn't disprove that. You might as well say that since cable shows say "gently caress" that means the FCC doesn't censor anything. EDIT and it's still not oppression either way
