I actually really liked the Samurai Warriors: Chronicles game on 3DS a lot. I liked the semi (barely) strategy element of sending generals around and having to switch around the battlefield for the objectives and whatnot. Then again the last time I had played a Musou game was........ Dynasty Warriors 3? Maybe 4?

If Nintendo is willing to let the Zelda license be used for a Dynasty Warriors type game then I can see them letting the Metroid license being used for a competitive FPS.
I would much rather have a true Metroid game, just like I'd much rather have a true Zelda game, but I'm pretty sure I'd still get both

It was also developed by a studio with no previous experience at making FPS games for a system with capabilities similar to the N64. And it still wasn't outright bad. Hell, they keep paying Platinum to make games, have the Vanquish team make it.

Don't need a holster if you never stop shooting.

Hunters was a decent multiplayer game hampered by a relative lack of balance. Pretty much felt like playing Unreal Tournament sometimes, complete with the lovely hacker experience.

Wasn't everyone except Samus broken? I remember Weavel's half-turret, Trace going invisible when sniping and Spire's Morph Ball being ridiculous. Pretty sure Sylux's electricity trap was overpowered as well. Did the others have stupid bullshit like that?

The ice guy and electro-slug both sucked, their weapons weren't useful at all even with their character bonuses. The ice weapon shot a spray of icicles and I think they bounced if you were the ice guy. The electric weapon was pretty much just the power beam but it made your victim's screens freak out, during which time they shot you with a real weapon.

The thing I saw said Japan and Europe. I.... dont think I need it.

Edit - I was reading Eurogamer so it looks like it might be coming out everywhere eventually, they just asked about Europe specifically. The actual quote: When asked whether the DLC would arrive in Europe, Nintendo UK sounded positive. "As for the information relating to the distribution of the GLA kart for MK8 outside Japan, we will be able to announce in the near future."

The good thing about the Mercedes DLC is that the game supports DLC. It's been a question since nothing in game implied that DLC was coming at all.

The ice guy (Noxus) did suck, but his character bonus was bugged in a hilariously strange way that probably made him loop around to being one of the best. His bonus was that a charged ice beam shot would freeze enemies directly in front of him. The range was very limited, and it didn't freeze anyone long enough to kill them unless you could switch to the sniper rifle quickly and land an easy headshot. However, even though it was only supposed to freeze enemies in front of him it was bugged and could freeze enemies directly above him as well, and in this case the range was unlimited. It took some practice, but if you looked down before you fired the charged ice beam you could freeze anyone anywhere on the map and follow up with an unavoidable sniper headshot. The cone for this thing was a lot more forgiving than just sniping someone outright.

Man, I played that game way too much if I still remember this poo poo. :v:

Stupid Wrestling People
The local independent retailers here used to just sell games whenever the hell they came in. I got Mario Galaxy 2 like a week before the release date. Apparently some fanboy tard called Nintendo and told them that one of the retailers sold them Pokemon X a few days early, and Nintendo of Canada went apeshit and flew out here and made everyone sign contracts if they wanted to keep selling Nintendo games. I'm really surprised they weren't in place before that. Looks like I have to wait till tomorrow to get Mario Kart. hashtagfirstworldproblems

I have the Biogenik WiiU Pro Controller from EB Games and it works pretty well. They also swapped the positions of the buttons and the thumb stick to match the xbox 360 which is nice for a game like Mario Kart.

Here's some loving nerd unboxing it:

Some people are freaking out about this and comparing it to EA. I mean crass commercialism it is, but it's not like they're charging you for it. Or that you have to download it.

I bought this exact one and its not bad. The official one is a good bit better imo. Id spend the extra money on it if you have it, but if you dont, the one you linked is a solid choice.

The gamepad owns and is used for interesting things at best, and at worst is just a normal controller that is wide. Its really the best of both worlds unlike the Wii remote which was great for pointing/motion and mega lazy layabout stuff, but blew rear end for anything normal.

Now that USB-controllers are a thing, I hope at E3 they'll announce a Madcatz arcade stick to appear alongside Pokken, complete with a rad Pokemon design. The knob of the stick could be a pokeball!
Another thing: Would the GC-controllers occupy a player-slot and replace a Wiimote, or would it count as an extra controller? If the latter, it could mean that 8-player games like that Bomberman-WiiWare title would be possible. Hell, with the Gamepad you could bump the player count up to 9!

My Gamecube controllers are barely functional after Melee and Brawl so I'll probably pass on the adapter unless they decide to go the Virtual Console route with GC games. I figure that playing SSB4 on 3DS for however many months will get me used to that control scheme and I'll be ok just using the Gamepad for the Wii U version.
