For as long as I have been off and on shooting, I still have so much to learn. Wish I would have paid better attention to the framing here, really wish the diagonal tree was not there. mAlfunkti0n fucked around with this message at 15:16 on May 28, 2014 |

Foreground feels too dark compared to the rest of the image. Bring those up about 20% and they should match your sky a bit more. Id use the grad tool and drag it from the bottom, about an inch above your green and play with adjustments, you can also use the radial tool, inverted if you wanna.

I'm playing with multiple exposures to get the sky and ground in the one shot, I might have to invest in some gradient filters at some stage. It was more of a "doing" holiday so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked setting up the shots though.

Judging from the sky, I'm guessing this is an hdr shot, so I assume what happened to the center is a result of that. If you retake it, I'd maybe experiment with moving up a bit more, past that first light. I'm not sure if it's any better, obviously, but it's worth a look, especially since it might make that building more of a subject. For some reason, I'm getting a big Hogwarts vibe from it.

Yeah, I think I have more playing around to do, but I like how this is going. Thanks.

You might try grabbing the sky with the luminance tool and raising the luminance of the blue. It'll brighten up that hazy, foggy area in the foreground and make your sky look a bit less baked.

Last weekend was my first time trying to photograph a landscape. I went hiking with friends, which is a pretty terrible way to do it since we were only out on the trails during midday. Everyone else wanted to sleep late in the mornings and hang out in town around sunset. The lighting in all of my shots ended up being really boring, this is the only shot that I could sort of salvage. 5B4A4529 by Jabba the Hutt, on Flickr
