TontoCorazon posted:Somebody post the pictures of the corpses and the people bathing right next to them. God these people are awful. The pictures of them drinking and brushing their teeth with the water is what triggers my gag reflex. I usually bring out this little chestnut every India thread. A lady I used to work with in China went to India for business. She was really worried about water quality so she only drank bottled water, and only the western brands (I think it was Dasani). Anyway she was at the hotel for a week when she started getting the shits and really bad cramps. She got her medication she brought with her and went to take it with some water. She took a bottle out of the fridge (replaced every afternoon) and noticed something on the bottle. A few days earlier she was on the phone and was doodling with a pen and wrote/drew something on a water bottle label. This bottle she had just opened, just broke the seal on was that very same bottle. She ran to the fridge and saw that every bottle in there had been resealed. Someone had taken the time to carefully put crazy glue on the tiny perforations on the seal so it seemed like you were opening a brand new bottle every time because it made that "cracking" noise. This whole time she had likely been drinking tap water, and it is also possible those very same bottles had been used by multiple guests and resealed for who knows how long. She now has a chronic stomach condition and adamantly tells everyone who even hints that they want to visit India to get their heads checked.

pacmania90 posted:why is it an "alleged" gang rape and murder? There are legal reasons, not the least of which is if the paper says it's gangrape and murder and the accused are exonerated, the paper can be sued for libel or slander. It can also deprive the accused of a fair trial to have a paper make such a declaration of guilt before the trial.

Whiskey Sours posted:It was nice of the gang rapists to make sure that those girls won't have to live with the painful memory of being gang raped. There used to be a cool goon trend where they'd speak on behalf of rape victims and say "it would've been better if they'd been murdered, actually". It was supposed to be a sentiment saying rape is really bad and you have to live with it for your entire life but mostly it just tells rape victims that they're damaged goods and their lives are now worthless.
