Oh my god, these Todd Packer sound packs. Amazing. Pretty much listening to all of 'Win Fred's Money'.

Does anyone remember which prank call consisted of Richard harassing some poor dumb son of a bitch by calling up 20 different times wanting to talk about the weather?

I love the back and fourth contrast between Sal's puerile filthiness and Richard's gee shucks G rated weather questions.

I seriously listen to at least some of the prank calls every Monday during work. Talking Yankees and "I am founder of No Gravity band" are loving platinum. I can't think of a better word than that. Well, maybe scrumtrillescent. Can I tell you my favourite Matt Dillon story real briefly?

I'm really amazed Richard is as well adjusted as he is, considering when he was growing up he saw ghosts and poltergeists and apparitions and vampires and werewolves and witches and swamp creatures and gremlins and ghoulies and demons and spiders and ogres and goblins and dinosaurs and warlocks and sharks and Mexicans.

Aside from the weather abuse, my second favourite thing about the Jonah Falcon show is his constant horrible attempt at trying to one-up them to sound like he's witty. Like when Sal said the thing about blowing his dad at the game, and he's just all 'yeah... well.. I... I bet you loved that a lot.'

Why do they keep saying "We need to screen these calls"? How much loving scrutiny is going to be involved with a lovely public access show? They'd be better off just realizing that no one is going to legitimately call into their crapfest.

Not as prank call, but as long as we're posting clips from local access shows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ur3XoSksU0 Unfortunately this was after Artie left so he wasn't around to goof on it, but Howard laughing uncontrollably is pretty great.

Also, holy poo poo, Jonah looks like so much more of a douche than he ever has before. Rupert Buttermilk fucked around with this message at 04:07 on Jun 1, 2014 |

I've been listening to BIG BOY on Power 106 in the mornings lately, and his show is OKAY, but what makes it painful that Howard is rarely on are Big Boy's prank phone calls. He does one every morning, and they're never funny, and all they do is make me think of Rusty and Rod.

On terrestrial radio, you are required by the FCC to tell somebody that they are/will be on the radio as soon as try pick up the phone, so it's impossible to have any kind of prank call. They usually get an off-air employee or somebody's family member to read a script and fake the whole thing. Radio is a loving awful medium full of awful people.

That whole inform them thing ONLY applies to prank calls that are live on-air. It really isn't worth the effort to do that. What most do, like Richard and Sal, is make the call and then call back later and explain it was a prank and to get permission.

They have to tell them that they're live on the air due to the fact that they are being recorded. For example, it's illegal to record somebody's voice in California unless two parties know (the recorder and the person being recorded) so they have to tell them immediately. I'm not sure what other states have this law. The recorded prank calls are exactly how you explained. They touched on it once before from what I can remember and they said they basically keep it very generic. "They work for a radio show" or "They have recorded their call for media use" or something like that.

I'm finally going through all of the ETM clips on youtube. He's just about to be in American Dreams. I have no idea how this is going to play out, since I know nothing of it, but I sort of assume that he doesn't get it, or doesn't go, or screws it up. I know that he was in some shows, but I think that all came later? Anyway, looking forward to the whole thing. Also, genuinely laughed out loud at: Howard: And make sure his name is above the title! Artie: That's the first time he's been above anything.
