The Mirror Universe assault cruiser is dirt cheap and comes with more crew than the regular assault cruiser, even if it's only a level 40 ship, and it looks like a Star Cruiser. They basically took the Sovereign and Star Cruiser and swapped all the stats around except for crew. I suppose if you hate the Star Cruiser model this could be a problem but hey it's the best level 40 cruiser in the game for 800,000 EC. Also the Mirror Negh'var kicks a lot of rear end, as it has a much more tac-heavy boff layout, but it's more expensive and of course KDF only. I did a duel with the leader of my fleet tonight, I held her off a long time but got ground down in the end, she was impressed with how well I can tank her for a rookie. Then another fleet member took her on in his Scimitar and got torn to pieces in less than 60 seconds. It's more that you can usually get better DPS out of DHCs + turrets. So if you're doing to do it you want something that can zip around fast enough to make the DHC's impractical. Ask in the [TheNextGooneration] or [NoP Public Service] and you can get an invite to one of our completed spires for the tac consoles. We can get you everything except fleet ships this way as well. So I just replaced the second aux2batt with aux2damp and swapped the PSW cooldown doff with the aux2damp doff that increases energy resistance and duration for better survivability and maneuverability. It seems like a better set-up overall.
