Use one of the weaker pistols and plug away at their legs if you're worried about killing them.

What's the point of the Digital Trip dealers if you can access the games straight from your menu? You can't even buy anything off them.

Do markers disappear/change if you complete every level in one of the side activities (shell game, chess, etc.)?

A reptile dysfunction
So after a long time being a heroic Vigilante I realized the lack of News Reports and Cops is actually a rather boring reward and went on a road rage murder spree with a side order of cop killing. Games a lot more fun when people actually call the cops and the news poo poo talks you all the time, I'd highly recommend it. It's pretty fun hiding from cops under bridges and leading six cop cars into a Steam pipe trap that sends them flying everywhere.

I've noticed no one will ever call the cops if you run people over with a car though, which is a bit silly when you're doing donuts in the middle of a crowded plaza.

The game data indicates there used to be pills as inventory items for each digital trip.

This game would be reasonable amounts of fun if the driving wasn't so terrible.

Escaping from cops isn't exciting because it's such a loving CHORE.

Get a motorcycle or a muscle car and actually pay attention to how they handle instead of throwing your hands up every time you corner.

I just used Focus any time I was hitting a tight corner. Basically like Franklin in GTAV.

Another totally viable option, and hell maybe the intended one. But it's really crazy to say cars are all on ice when they're all (okay mostly, I don't know who made the Elise but gently caress them) visibly moving in a way that can be controlled. I assume most people just take their first corner at 100MPH and slam into a wall and refuse to even attempt to learn what's going on with the cars from there on.

What I learned from racing GTA Online is that if you know the brake exists you are in the upper 50% if you actually use it you are in the top 5%, so if someone says the cars are on ice I never know if the game sucks or if they suck, I haven't found WD's driving to be that bad, unless the driving actually changes with framerate and stuff like was mentioned earlier in the thread. Though using focus while turning is a bit wonky both on foot and in cars.

Anyone know what the hell you are supposed to do on Ghosts of the Past? I get caught by police every time and they spawn in random locations and auto-spot you once you are in range.

Edit: Got it out of 10 tries. It just luckily didn't spawn a cop that it always spawned in the way of my only path out.

That was fun and I got it out in 1 try. I drove very slowly watching out for police cars in the mini map and using alleys and small house driveways and gardens, moving on the west part of the town. Sometimes I had to just change the direction abruptly and I don't think I tried to hack semaphores or steam pipes.

Sometimes police won't notice you if you pass in a mart parking to avoid their blockade (you just have to be at a certain distance though).

I'm just a memory, I can't give you any new information.

Driving is on the awful side of average overall. Too many of the high powered cars burn out forever and fishtail even when just trying to start straight from a stop, to say nothing of trying to accelerate out of a turn. Not enough friction or not enough weight or what, I don't know, but it can be a huge problem. While it's not impossible to drive or escape and whatnot, it can be a chore. Seems like something that should have had alot more attention paid to it and it didn't get it.

Yup. I'm in the top 50% because I know where the brake button apparently so that makes the driving mechanics perfect.

I never said they were perfect, and it's more that I can't tell if people think the driving sucks because they can't take 90 degree corners at 300km/h or if the game actually sucks for them, for me WD plays pretty much like Sleeping Dogs without the ram button, while listening to others it seem like it plays like big rigs.

Are you playing on a keyboard? Cos that sounds to me like more of a result of analogue driving controls(or whatever it's called) which obviously isn't an issue with a controller.

The other weekend I did about 7 Online Races in a row, this was also the first time I had done any online racing. I won every single one of them by 20 second+ leads and I still crashed a few times here and there. I think some people are trying to apply GTA physics to a game built on a different engine (in GTA you can brake and turn at the same time without issue).

Driving is always the most subjective aspect of a GTA Clone, and often leads to hyperbole on both sides of the fence as a result. Personally, I'm really enjoying it in Watch Dogs. Probably just below GTA V for me. It feels like what they were attempting to do with GTA IV.

I don't mind it because it kind of forces me to evade the cops in more of a "Drive" style : cutting down alleyways, turning off the car etc. rather than a full on highway chase style.

I saw this in the Gamers.txt thread, all i can think is "yeah, i'm using the vast amounts of information like "frequent online purchases: Anime" to hunt down this imaginary black man and kill him at his fake job at a fast food place.

Plus that article makes no mention of the fact that you're not really suppose to be killing people willy nilly anyway.

how do they work?
I play with the mouse + keyboard and aside from wanting a better way to act like an npc in a car (tapping w occasionally makes me do a burnout) I can turn pretty fine. Hated it at first, same way I hated GTAIV's driving. An hour later i'd adjusted and I was drifting round corners with millimeters between me and other cars.

Just practice y'all.

gently caress trying to outdrive the cops.
I head to overpasses, get out of the car and jump down and hide underneath. Then hug the pillars keeping out of line of sight if any manage to get down to the same level.
Works everytime.

Must test it out on water though, a friend says that if you head to the nearest river ingame, if there is a bridge raise it, and jump into the water and swim up and down it.

The answer is boats. Get in a boat and you can go fast enough that even choppers will lose sight of you.

Regarding the final mission, two of the objectives are right on the water, the third one I found easier to reach on foot than driving.

James Kotaku sat motionless at his desk. He glanced at the clocks of various locales hanging around the Kotaku newsroom. The hours varied by time zone, the minutes stayed the same. :22. Only the small hand for the seconds moved ever so slowly towards the next newsless minute. He sighed. Then, the minutes changed. :23: Somewhere half around the globe, a post was made. James Kotaku's body stiffened as if struck by an invisible lightning. He felt something. Somewhere on the internet, news was happening.

Despite the quivering in his fingers, his hands flew over his keyboard quickly. Only seconds later, a new story was posted on kotaku.com.

Some Players Are Hunting Down Women In Watch_Dogs

James leaned back in his chair. Another clickbait. Maybe this time it would lure people without AdBlocker. Maybe then he would finally hit it big. Maybe then Susan and the kids would return.
