Good win, think the result would have be the same without the push. Think the climb is just too steep for any big attacks so minimal drama from the big guns.

Bongiorno kind of give up after that stupid push, 2 stages for Rogers in this race including the queen stage, that's impressive.

That was a great Giro, today didn't change much for the Top10 but it's understandable they couldn't really attack.

The stage should be on the Rai website in the evening.

Bourgogne, very worth a visit if anyone is considering it, not many mountains so leave the bike at home. Funnily enough the owner of the domaine we visited's son is a massive MTBer so got some bike porn in too.

Can't wait to catch up on today's stage tonight. Criterium and TDS soon, looking forward to them.

Not much you can do about it though, its not like you can barricade off 15km or close an entire mountain down. One day someone will do something retarded Monica Seles style, everyone knows it. But again, what are you gonna do besides hope that they stab Chris Froome in the neck instead of Fab or Purito.

The Aussie pundits made a good suggestion which was instead of having a lockstep garda last 500 meters evenly space them out down the hill and let them batton anyone who is too close to the riders.

totally agree, they had barriers for a long way so you just need to police to patrol them to fine and also brutlly beat anyone who jumps over and runs alongside

Also, give a reward to spectators who trip or straight up deck runners, like we had a couple of times last year in the Tour. Let the cols run red with blood :unsmigghh:

I wonder what the response would have been if Quintana had been chucked off his bike by that push. As it is nothing really result affecting has happened. I always say though that it wont be long before someones diving in front of the yellow jerseys wheel.

Gonna ride up Emosson for the stage have to go up the Forclaz before to get there. Forclaz sucks though, 1000m climb, solid burn at 7-8% like 3 actual hairpins and maybe 3-4 bends rest is straight, nothing remarkable about the climb. Can't see anyone doing a meaningful attack on it. Emosson on the other hand is a beautiful climb.

It's a pretty lovely move, but he's boring to watch.

Best thing that can happen at the tour is reporters asking Froome how smart he is after each stage.

It sucks he won't be able to ride the tour but Wiggins in track form is much more entertaining. He looks more human and ~actually gets to enjoy a food~. Commonwealth games are going to be good this year (and not just for bikes).

Honestly if He were to join Hoy with what he's doing in promoting cycling, coaching youths, etc, he could really cement his name down in british cycling history instead of just being "That dude that won the tour and the olympic TT in the same year"

Only one time trial at the very end of the Tour, makes sense I guess. I feel somewhat bad for the guy but I don't know what really goes on behind the scenes.

This news aside, I'm really starting to look forward to the Vuelta. Sounds like it'll be full of great riders, fingers crossed they all stay healthy.

Froome being the leader absolutely makes sense, leaving Wiggins off the squad entirely when he has said he's happy to be a domestique doesn't. He is easily one of the nine strongest riders on Sky's roster right now.

Mainly I think it's sad that the most famous British cyclist will not be riding when the most famous bike race in the world starts in Britain.
