Jess St. Clair and Lennon Parham did a live Improv Show with Zouks and other cool guys to promote Playing House: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xga2IumhYIs. Only one part up for the moment, guess they'll do more.

This, alongside the House of Pies improv that Ben Schwartz hosted, has me giddy with the extremely unlikely scenario of UCB/longform improv getting it's own regular show like Whose Line.

Besser mentioned something about gearing up for a TV show in one of his ad reads on the latest I4H. Anyone have any idea what it could be?

Matt Besser mentioned some kind of mystery TV project on the last i4h, it would be amazing if it was this.

Having seen this a few times, it always cracks me up that Horatio Sanz looks like he's hanging on by a thread all the time.

Whoa, thanks for this. I had only seen the relatively recent Netflix ASSSSCAT and thought that was the only one, this is fantastic. Loving Bessers hairstyle.

It should be a renewal of Besser's Crossballs after a 10 year hiatus. But then Andy Daly, who was often the best part of that show, would be too busy with his own :(

I feel like a jerk for disliking Armen and laughing at Besser being mean to him. He's a grown rear end man and Stard and Kulap babying him in two charted was just pathetic.

Politicalrancor

I mean, Armen is funny because that's real. Like I don't consider him funny as a comedian, but as a piece of art. Like you can't even play that character as well he lives it.

Armen sucked on who charted and the episode with besser was hilarious because it was how any reasonable person would react to him

Armen reminds me a lot of Jamie Flam on the Longshot Podcast. They are both man-boys that can't really commit to what they are doing. Like Besser on Armen, Sean Conroy has spent a lot of time dressing down Jamie.

Has anyone seen the Fargo miniseries? I put FX only behind HBO in terms of quality but all it took was Hayes and Sean making fun of it, twice (!), to scare me off. They are starting to wield their Hollywood influence.

I've been watching it. Hayes and Sean are not wrong in saying that it lacks the subtlety of the movie, but I think it's a good, fun show and I really enjoy it. Honestly the scene from the pilot (Martin Freeman's character being bullied) that they tore to shreds on HH is genuinely terrible and when I saw it I was worried the show was going to suck, but there is nothing else in any episode after the pilot that is anywhere near that bad IMO.

Yeah, it's Freeman's scene immediately following that one that sold me on the show. And then the one after that :stare:

Seriously. His character went places I did not expect, and so very, very quickly.

The pilot has some rough edges, and there's an egregious scene in the second episode where they flash back to something that happened literally 3 minutes ago - JUST IN CASE YOU FORGOT THIS REALLY OBVIOUS PLOT DETAIL - but the rest of it is pretty solid television. The HH jokes were mostly criticisms of elements you see in any drama pilot, where heavy exposition is lazily used to really drive home a characters' circumstances.

The song seems ridiculous, though I haven't watched the video yet, but I do sort of like the implicit idea the song posits that every Marvel franchise takes place in New York because New York is already so weird that these super people fit in more.

Yeahhhh, I started screaming around the 30 second mark. Why?

EDIT: And Scott wasn't joking when he said the Phantom's final song on the CBB TV show's musical episode was a direct riff on this. Tone, style, content, everything. The Phantom even does the "But why have ONE villain..." bit.
