Ah, I get you, yeah. I kind of like it, to be honest, I just feel like GW's spiraling the drain and they just won't go in. Part of me wants to see them escape this spiral while another part's just this primal nagging for something to happen either way.

I mean GW eliminated support for all it's specialist games and FF seems to be picking up the slack. And a lot of what they produce is top notch as well; The RPG stuff, Blood Bowl Team Manager, Chaos in the old world, Horus Heresy boardgame are all fantastic even Disk Wars is kinda ok.

I love Only War and I've always been a big fan of Blood Bowl. FFG is pretty ace.

Granted I'm sure some of the detailing would be lost if shrunken down a bit but it's still such a nice model that doesn't make me cringe whenever I see it compared to female ones.

Oh, I see, you're one of those radical feminists. :fella:

OFFICIAL GW MODEL. :cripes: I was commissioned to paint this model TWICE, (the owner had a ton of amazing old back stock in the store, got a Rogue Trader era Dire Avenger Exarch, among my favorites) one player was horrified about the boobs so I made sure to emphasize them as much as I could. On the other I painted all that area black to make it less embarrassing.

This has promise except for the stupid loving swooping neckline on her ... paper thin tank top.

This guy photo manipulated how it can be painted over instead of, uh, painting it though. Easy to do!

Have you seen their share prices? If that's circling the drain I want to know what doing well is.

They're poo poo. They do a lot of poo poo things. But right now from a pure economic perspective, it's working.

I do think the company is changing, just VERY SLOWLY. They're offering sales now, preview boxes, etc. Kit quality is loving insanely good. What they need to do is engage more with the community, fix broken rules and realise that they aren't just a model company with a game tacked on.

Also my god it's annoying in a GW to have this exchange :

Employee : 'cool you seem to have made awesome light up smoke effects! And you have an awesomely painted army!'

Me: thanks man I appreciate it. Doing alright so far, got a few objectives and-

Employee : 'what's this? *points at Mantic thunderfire, painted with a GW tech marine accompanying it*

Me: 'oh it's a mantic model - easier to transport and a bit cheaper'

Employee : 'next time, fully GW or not at all buddy. Can't be allowed to use that. '

I mean look man, I know I'm a customer and it's your store, but surely you should be aiming to draw people in? A fully painted army on the table being actively played with by a customer is the best drat advertising there is. Just because I didn't want to use the atrocious metal loving thunderfire doesn't mean I shouldn't be allowed to play.

I really should finish up some of the other models I've got sitting around. At the moment I have the following:

Daemon Prince of Nurgle (winged) (painted)
Daemon Prince of Nurgle (unpainted)
Daemon Prince (half-painted)
Kairos Fateweaver (unpainted/unassembled)
Herald of Nurgle on Palaquin (painted)
Herald of Tzeentch (painted)
10x Plaguebearers (painted)
40x Pink Horrors of Tzeentch (10 painted/30 painted horribly by someone else)
3x Nurgling Swarms (painted)
6x Flamers of Tzeentch
5x Seekers of Slaanesh (painted)

10x Fleshhounds of Khorne (counts-as WoC Chaos Warhounds, 4 painted--in progress)
6x Screamers (painted)

Yeah the Power Girl boob window I'm not a fan of either for that part. And that idea sounds pretty good even if I'd almost go crazy and try to make flak armour and gently caress everything up.

But yeah, the majority of the female commissar models are just cringeworthy. The art of the only female Commissar in one of the OW books is almost as bad with the noticeable cleavage.

That GIS search did lead me to these though

You may want to consider breaking those Paladins into smaller units. Considering Troops supercede all other scoring units a couple of "Solodins" used to drop onto objectives Turn 2+ would be helpful. Maybe 4/4/1/1 so you can still have a decent number within the Land Raiders and have a couple to tactical scoring capability.

Isn't that more a problem because of GWs messed up scaling than anything else as most other Heroic 28mm stuff will look kinda out of place amongst GW models.

Yeah aside from the not yet released Warmachine figure it really seems to my best choice as of right now unless Victoria Lamb suddenly releases female officer sculpts or something. I might just buy it anyway and see what I can do with it and then see how easy a weapon swap really is with what I've got

I'm pretty sure Victoria Lamb at least has some female heads. At this scale the bodily differences between a man or woman in flak armor is negligible.

What's generally the best loadout for solodins? My hammer guy always seems to be the squad MVP, but solo he'd be a much bigger target for shooting and easy to assault with his low initiative. Keep them cheap with storm bolter & sword?

*deletia*

Paladin armies are tricky because you're always gonna have a really low model count. For that reason, you really need to squeeze points elsewhere to try and make sure you can get maximum mileage out of things. I think you have some good concepts here, but there's a couple missteps, the main one being your Land Raiders. Paladins pay a lot for being tough, and cramming them inside a metal box largely wastes that- it might mean you get to combat a little sooner, but it limits the number of guys you can have as well.

With that in mind, I would try something like this:

Draigo
Coteaz
5 Purifiers (2 Psycannons) in Rhino
5 Purifiers (2 Psycannons) in Rhino
10 Paladins (4 Psycannons, Banner, Apothecary; 2-4 Hammers, 1-3 Swords, the rest Halberds)
1 Paladin (Hammer or Halberd)
1 Psyker + 2 Acolytes in Razorback w/Psybolt
1 Psyker + 2 Acolytes in Razorback w/Psybolt
1 Psyker + 2 Acolytes in Razorback w/Psybolt
1 Psyker + 2 Acolytes
1 Dreadnought (2 TL Autocannon, Psybolt)
1 Dreadnought (2 TL Autocannon, Psybolt)

That gives you a good amount of fire support at S6/7/8, some anti-horde tricks with Cleansing Flame, and a nasty disembark with your Psykers by dumping Psychic Shriek on someone. Draigo wants to be rolling on Divination in hopes of getting Precognition, because rerolling a 3++ or 2++ save is badass. Coteaz can go Divination or Sanctic, depending on your mood. Psykers almost certainly want to roll Telepathy every time- Shriek is amazing and if you get super-lucky you could have Invisibility to put on your guys. A Dreadknight wouldn't be out of place in the army, either, although I felt that the fire support was more important at this stage. (I'm not a fan of the teleporting Knight.) Interceptors could also potentially make the list to support your aggressive strategy. If you wanted to be super-lulzy, you could sneak in a Skyshield to put your vehicles on top of- that's an easy 3++ for your tanks right there.
